I didn’t see it.

But as they are probably German almost certainly!

He was fully dressed. He was more of a pitch-invader than a streaker.

Anyway, St Pauli, I am sure you have had to answer this question a million times, but are you more for England or more for Germany in the next round?

I really struggle to bother to watch later rounds of these competitions if I don't have a dog in the race, so was hoping they'd avoid each other first and foremost.

I'd say I'd rather Germany won, but that's not actually because I prefer one side or footballing nation over the other.

The main reason is that English fans, having had nothing to cheer about since 1966, and without ever a real genuine hope of winning an international tournament, need to find their little victories were they can. These appear to be against Germany.

Many a time I've been sent SM messages by England fans about the time they beat Germany 5:1. In the meantime Germany won a world cup, beat Brazil 7:1 in Brazil, and have made it far in international competitions.

I'd like Germany to win, not because I prefer them, but simply to avoid the inevitable jingoistic tabloid crowing and 'yeah but we beat you at Wembley in '21 and then crashed out to Sweden' whenever the question of who is the better country at football, Germany (4 world cups, 3 Euro championships) or England (1 world cup, 0 Euro championships).

And no, the same crowing will not take place in Germany if they win, because the Germans don't really see England as a rival, they're just another European team to the Germans. They hate the Dutch.

Surely there's absolutely no question, even among knuckledraggers, over who is better at football between England and Germany?

I mean, it's just obviously Germany.

Zip Wales v Denmark is sold out to the limited capacity available. Thousands of Danish fans are attending. This tournament is anything other than being played on a level playing field.

Maybe it's a result of them being an insignificant footballing nation all my life until 2016 but I had no idea the Welsh were so bitter, you've not even lost yet!

Prior to 2016 we had made it to two more quarter finals of major tournaments than Scotland have ever managed. Just saying.

You're forgetting that England fans often confuse success in major conflicts in the first half of the twentieth century with footballing prowess.

WW1 = European Cup win
WW2 = World Cup win
Brexit = Group stage coup de grâce

I had a one night stand with a Dutch bird called Nina in Bristol in the 90’s. She was an interesting girl :? In a scary sort of way.

She had a few issues. Highly promiscuous. Her flatmate at the time was and remains one of my best mates. He used to tell me some of the stuff she used to get up to. She would make a point of wearing very short night dresses and not wear panties and go to the front door to meet the postman and bend down to pick up the post with her crotch in full view.

Two days without a match at this stage of a tournament just seems wrong.

There aren't normally breaks until semis right?

I've never really seen Sancho play apart from a couple of games in the CL. The German press are saying Sancho not playing is a crime and they think he is being wasted and should have had him playing for them.
Is he that good? And is Southgate being a knob not playing him? If he is as good as they say he is, should he not be starting?

Think they’ve always had breaks between the last game of the group stages and the first game of knockouts

Especially with it not being as simple as 1st in Group A vs 2nd in Group B and vice versa - some criss crossing going on between groups

Out and about yesterday and saw quite a few Danish cars driving around. Looks like there'll be a fair few at the game tonight.

Sounds like a row is brewing with no European team fans being allowed at Wembley either.

The entire organisation of the tournament has been ridiculous. Seriously I’ll conceived in the first place and even more so during a pandemic.
