TheMaraudingDog Couches control wasn't exactly difficult.
And he had the natural shape to hook the ball into the net.

Cisse was actually facing the touchline and which made it even harder to aim the shot at such an angle. I've never ever seen a goal like Cisse's before. The swerve is incredible and Im certain he meant to place it exactly where it went. Couches was defiaNtly more speculative and the sort of goal that no doubt flies in once every Sunday morning on some park pitch.

Also worth noting the goalkeepers position. Hart off his line and Cech firmly on it leaving even less mArgin for error.

I think the :|s should be directed at the words 'Cech firmly on his line', when he clearly isn't.

TBM So you've just posted a picture proving he was facing the touchline

You're not thinking of the sideline, are you?

Huh? You're not thinking of the byline are you?

 my heart bleeds.

It's clearly a wonderful and unique looking strike. And as someone who has played a lot of football (which apparently needs to be mentioned when commenting on this thread :| ) I totally appreciate his body position and the technique to cut across the ball like that. However, I do think that he didn't know quite how well it would end up when he hit it.

Here's another still showing Cech firmly on his line.

Also highlights the bend he got on it.

Fantastic strike but I reckon he was going for the other corner and trying to beat Cech at his near post.

Crouch >>>> Cisse

Cisse's was a lucky wonderstrike. No-one hits a ball like that knowing where it's going to end up.

Crouch's goal was a precision strike without a semblance of luck about it.

Great goal by Cisse last night but for me, Modric's goal last night >>> Cisse's 2nd >>>> Cisse's 1st

Fantastic reaction. It's how I felt when the third went in against Southampton, as if football couldn't get any better.
