Stranded
From Despair To Where?
Stranded Isn't only not the season closer this year due to the CL final being at Wembley on the 25th? Sure the FA have committed to it being the closer again after this year.

It's not been the season closer more often than not for the past 10 years.

I know, point is the FA made a commitment, I think last year for it to be but it can't be this year due to the the CL Final.

I hope that's the case. There's something a lot less special about the FA Cup when it's played two games before the season finishes. For me it's the same for the League Cup as well. Both are centre peace events and should be at the end of the season. The play-offs have put paid to that though.

No ad breaks on ESPN from the moment the teams came out to when the winners lift up the trophy

Get in Wigan! What a fairytale. So pleased for them. At least when they go down, they'll always have today.

Great stuff.

That was beautiful.

A fiver on Wigan made it sweeter still.

This has to be the best season ever in terms of the 'magic' of the cups. I can't remember a better one.

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks 'Pangolin' or 'Pantechnican' or whatever his name is - who was harshly dropped for Hart - would have caught Watson's 'Lawrie The Flick' style header without a 2nd thought -

- since he's about 7 ft 14" ?

... my daughters' delighted - she can watch BGT now!

Good to see a smaller team win it. Shame it had to be Wigan though.

bobbybottler Anyway, Wigan have so many out, and will be taking it easy in order to save themselves for their remaining Prem fixtures, plus Manchester City will need to win this to cover their league shortcomings - it's an obvious pick of Manchester City.

Glorious, I'm not going to let this one go.

I'll stick up for Bobby here. I thought Man City would thrash them. Very shocked but pleased.

Still getting relegated though.

That was brilliant; most I've celebrated a non-Reading football moment since John Terry's slip!

Thoroughly deserved and so pleased for Dave Whelan too.

'Greed - a genuine cupset this.

Pretty shocking performance from City tbh, didn't even come close to matching the application of the Wigan players.

McManaman's a player. Would imagine he'll follow Martinez back to the Scouseland this summer.

I wouldn't give a toss about Reading getting relegated if we'd done the same thing.

Pretty jealous TBH but fair play to them they were good today.
