Nations League

by Sanguine » 26 Mar 2014 15:51

UEFA in doing-something-right-shocker.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26747394

2018 will see the inaugural 'nations league' of European countries, replacing meaningless friendlies with league matches against similarly ranked opposition in one of four divisions, with promotion and relegation, and the added boost of wildcard places to the Euros.

I like.

merge!

theyre still friendlies, just more meaningful?

what about friendlies against sth american teams, or african nations etc?
and what about organising friendlies before a tournament or game to mimic the opposition you will have in your upcoming games etc?

is that all dead now?
