The scoreline isn't the funniest thing about the game either when you look at the name of the player red carded.Hendo wrote:Highest ever Eridivise scoreline, beating their own record of 12-1 set in 1972.Winston Biscuit wrote:

Yeah, quits and then sets fire to the curtains on the way out.Winston Biscuit wrote:In his resignation speech he says

He needs to start acting his age.Sanguine wrote:Rangers have had a terrific start to the season. 16 wins and 2 draws, undefeated, 43 goals scored and just 4 conceded*.

And Milan back to winning ways behind a (okay, slightly ropey) bicycle kick from a 39 year old.![]()

Patchy run indeed. Our record at the end of 1985 was P24 W 20 D2 L2. After that, a more prosaic P22 W9 D5 L8.Sanguine wrote:Here's a good stat, inspired by Liverpool's 7-2 defeat at Villa and their topping the table (for now). The biggest margin of defeat in a season by a team that subsequently wins the league is six goals - a joint record held by Benfica - who lost 7-1 to Sporting in 86-87 but went on to win the league, and our Reading the prior season, where our 0-6 defeat at Walsall was the start of a patchy run of form from February, but didn't stop us taking the Third Division title.
Norwich lost 7-1 at home to Colchester in 2009, before going on to win the league.Sanguine wrote:Here's a good stat, inspired by Liverpool's 7-2 defeat at Villa and their topping the table (for now). I seem to remember one of their supporters going down to the touchline and throwing their ST at the manager.Sanguine wrote:Ha, so they did. First game of the season as well. Proving to be as predictive as our opening day defeat to Plymouth in 05-06.
Yes, that was it. Bryan Gunn was sacked, and Paul Lambert was hired, from Colchester, having just masterminded the thrashing.Hendo wrote:I seem to remember one of their supporters going down to the touchline and throwing their ST at the manager.Sanguine wrote:Ha, so they did. Yep, I couldn't remember the managers involved, thought it was Hughton for some reason, but Gunn and Lambert are rightSanguine wrote:Yes, that was it. Hope they don't turn into another Gretna. I remember they used to utterly dick teams back in the 2000s and had a player called Kenny Deucher who was a doctor and part time player who scored a stoooooooooooopid amount of goals.Winston Biscuit wrote:Just noticed how well Cove Rangers are doing in Scotland.
I previously noticed them when they went into the play offs to try and get into the Scottish football league for the first time 2 years ago but having looked back on it I see they beat Berwick 7-0 to get into the league, then won League 2 last season and now sit top of League 1.
