And rumours that Liverpool were in for Mustafi started about a week about - which subsequently made it clear Mustafi's availability, and allowed Schalke to find a replacement. Edwards probably gave them Mustafi's number. He's very good is this chap.

And often you find those sort of signings may turn out more successful. When you buy from perceived “big clubs” - you often buy for the name, whereas from teams out of the blue, you’ve normally worked hard to assess the player in question, and make sure they fit what’s required
Well, quite. Liverpool's signings have come from Roma, Southampton, Newcastle, Stoke, Hull and Hoffenheim. It's called scouting, isn't it.
