Perhaps one of the more enjoyable things about watching Newcastle is St Maxinin. Sorry if he's been mentioned on here already, and I daresay he has. He is one of those players that seems to me so valuable - he doesn't only have tremendous skill but he is very energetic and hardworking - that I don't understand why he isn't being sought out by big clubs all over Europe.

Wow, just seen Walker Peters' goal for Southampton on March of the Day while I was typing the above.

Chelsea really seem to have the hoodoo over Spurs. In the last 10 meetings between the two, Spurs have scored just 2 goals, winning 0 in the process

Was surprised to see Spurs leave out N’Dombele, Alli and Lo Celso from the squad given how poor their depth is. Even if none of them are particularly great, a midfield two which includes Harry Winks is always going to be suspect

Spurs will just drift until the end of the season, Europa League place at best. Bizarre that Conte hasn't had any money to spend this month, they need a player in every position imo.

Winston Biscuit Daniel Podence is a bit short

5ft 5ins, just. Puts him a centimetre taller than Tariq Lamptey and Ryan Fraser, and two centimetres above Alan Wright, who was 5ft 4ins with roundings.

Shortest known current players in their country's top division are Maxi Moralez of New York City FC at 5ft 2ins, and Marcin Garuch, who plays in the Polish top flight and is just 5ft tall.

Pepe the Horseman What's the record for goals in the Champ? I know we got 99.

Pretty sure that's still the record. For the next few months, anyway. Fulham need 30 goals in 20 games to reach a ton.

99 is still the record. Would imagine Fulham breeze past that.

Leicester with 109 from 42 games in the 56/57 season (just heard it mentioned on a podcast)

I was pretty sure 99 couldn't be the record, otherwise we'd go on about it a lot, surely

Can't believe I fell for the 'Championship' record only rather than football league. I'm such a sell out.

Interesting one this. The club took out a £5m loan during the height of the pandemic that it can't currently pay back (and likely won't be able to unless the club reaches the PL). So the loan has been converted to shares - key being less than the 10% EFL threshold that is considered a 'significant' stake in the club and all the financial tests that go with that.

Can't see that a long-term investment in a football club is in the government's interest, they'll probably sell these off piecemeal over the next few years, but at least for now Bolton's finances aren't damaged once more.

Sanguine Fulham are decent, aren't they? 6 goals or more in three consecutive games doesn't feel like it can have been done often before. 70 goals now this season, next highest is Blackburn's 44.

Hadn't realised, and quite excitingly, Fabio Carvalho, who has 7 goals in 16 games from midfield, chose to represent England at youth level. Must surely be on Southgate's radar.

What's the record for goals in the Champ? I know we got 99.

we could be on for a ton against.

I might have been a bit biased when I felt Huddersfield had a lot of luck with refereeing decisions last week, but this week they have surpassed themselves. The ref was 10 yards away and had a perfect view when this happened. There was even a little flourish before he landed his studs. No red card and of course he scored within a few minutes.

Why do games now get stopped if someone in the crowd is getting medical treatment? This didn't uses to be a thing.

Almost certainly the best, and most available, help are the medical teams of the teams

Saw a stat yesterday that made me

Prior to kick off Sunderland had a +8 goal difference over Oxford, when the games finished it was -3

It's that - new protocol from the start of this season to ensure the majority of medical resources are immediately available to any stricken fan. Was the case at Fulham this weekend and has been in some previous incidents that the home club doctor was one of the first medics at the scene. Tragically in this case Paul Parish, a lifelong Fulham fan, died before reaching hospital.

Add Sunderland to the list of clubs you assumed Warnock had already managed, only to be surprised when you find out he hasn't already.
