BraisingsteakRoyal My local side, Eastleigh have just been (re-)bought:

Hopefully he can build on his experience, connections and put in some much needed money. Poor that Eastleigh let a good opportunity slip away missing out on play offs.

Will be interesting next season down at Bottom Meadow with the pitch being switched to 3G during the close season

Bracknell's faster passing game may benefit and it'll be good for Sandhurst to not have so many cancellations

A sizeable Sandhurst Town feature on ITV National News a few minutes ago.

The parting line being…..”the next time you hear a Premier manager moaning about playing two games in a week” lol

Well done Sandhurst !

To be fair if their squad didn't win the league they'd be something very wrong. They had a great squad for the level.

Feel for Berks County but still have a chance in the playoffs.

Yeah they are essentially Bracknell Town under 23's. Can't knock it, far better to have decent youngsters playing competitive mens football rather than filling the Bracknell bench or playing Allied Counties league.

Looks as if Milton Utd are heading for step 5 - leading 2-0 at Hartspury with not long to go
Spoke to soon Hartbury score in 88 and 90 mins 2-2
Milton won on PENS

Four Of Clubs NL matches this w/e:

Saturday 29thApril

Southern League - Champions Finals
Premier: Weston-super-Mare P-P Tamworth - Tamworth cried-off - league p!ssed off!

What is this game, is it just a pointless piece of filler or does something actually ride on it other than it being the equivalent of a 3rd place play off? If it's just a meaningless game what on earth are leagues doing filling their calendars with cr@p like this at this stage of a season? Anyone know why Tamworth pulled out, will they get done by the SL for it?

Presumably bodes very well for Bracknell's future too, for the record though how many of Bracknell's players were they fielding? Were they playing under these dual registrations that you get in the non league game?

Unless they had a county cup final, their seasons would be over, so scheduling isn't really an issue. Being a bit pointless is.

...I think the SL 'blazers' put far greater importance on this showpiece 'Match of Champions' than the clubs - evidently.
Got a vague idea Taunton essentially told them to f£ck off last season too - probably expected to schlep up to whoever won the Central Premier in 21-22 ....and binned it.

...looked it up - would have been @ Banbury - so not unduly taxing perhaps?

Apparently the STEP04 equivalent 21-22 'Champions Shield' game was fiercely contested at Bedford and the visitors were Plymouth Parkway ... so some clubs are happy to invest in the junket?

Doing it pre-season has been mooted but by then the squads could be entirely different and it would lose even more of the minimal prestige - that only the League give it?

I suppose to be even-handed: the 'Shield' in question, is a long-established award from as long as the Southern League has existed - and is/was a highly regarded honour. Splitting the top division into two regional leagues of late has meant they need to decide the overall winner ... or retire the Shield altogether, which some might feel would be a shame. :?

The League Officialdom is a bit hacked off with Tamworth - who are citing lack of players ....and the SL stance is everyone knew this game would be scheduled at 'season's rump' as it were and should have kept it in mind .... right! :?

Windsor given a points deduction for playing an ineligible player. No word from the club about it. Then again they didn't even confirm the relegation.

A terribly run club gets what its owner deserved.

And will presumably take Sandhurst’s place in the CCLD1. Very peculiar league that seeing as the non-regional Division 1 feeds two regionalised Premier Divisions (surely that’s arse about face!).

Meanwhile Maidenhead were being relegated for part of yesterday evening, until Elliot Lee (a player I wouldn’t mind Reading signing) equalised for Wrexham at Torquay in the 80th minute. Torquay now slump into the NLS where they could face the might of Bracknell Town if the Robins manage to buck the trend of cr@p results against Truro tomorrow.

..... no word that I've seen yet about ups/down for CCL-PN - purely on on PPG I'm pretty sure Windsor were safe (just) in 2nd bottom but if this points deduction had either dropped them below 'Jets' (it seems to be three points so - not) or put them into the worst four 2nd bottom clubs across the 16 STEP05 divisions - then they will be in D1 next season. I'll have to go a 'delving'..... :?

...pretty immaterial and just from a pendant's viewpoint (which is of course the way of the 'Anoraks') - providing the Beeb have got their tables right - I think technically 'Magpies' were not in the relegation places yesterday PM.
- Torquay needed two more goals : or Maidenhead to ship two more at Gateshead, as 'The Gulls' had to beat Wrexham by at least three to overhaul them on GD as it stood?
