Rooney complained that he didn't have the players to play the way he wanted to play, and after the 3-1 home defeat to Stoke publically stated that if he could, he would have made 11 substitutions.

A couple of things; first - did he not do any diligence as to the players already at the Club (and who had got Birmingham to 6th) - before taking the job on?

And second, when a Manager publically humiliates his players as Rooney did, we all know how it ends - with the players not giving 100% and the Manager getting the sack.

As for Steve Cooper going to Birmingham, the only way that would happen is if Birmingham threw Premier League wages and guarantees of a massive transfer budget - with him having a major say in who comes into the club - his way.
