NathStPaul City look better without Haaland as weird as that sounds.

Against the better defensive sides that seems to be the case
And normally, I would say that Villa are decent defensively
Without Haaland they just seem to work the ball better in the attacking third

Although, could all have been somewhat different if only the wall had not been so porous

No, makes sense. When he's playing the obvious, easy ball is to play it to him - when he's not, they're forced to be a bit more creative and inventive which suits them a lot more.

Dirk Gently easy ball is to play it to him.

But they rarely do that. There's so many times when he's looking to run in behind early or waiting for a quick cross where they just decide pass the ball around for five mins in the attacking third trying create the perfect scoring chance instead.

Yawn, Liverpool one up on Sheffield united.

OTOH I guess I prefer Liverpool to Man City and Arsenal, so “Help yourselves”

Not anymore.

I think if you were playing anyone other than Chelsea out of the supposed "big teams" you'd have been royally fcuked in the 1st half.

Good old bbc having their midweek MOTD programme on Wednesday with probably the most high profile game being played tonight.

So what possible reason would you have to care about MOTD? You can watch the highlights whenever you like.

Sanguine Something ominous about City swatting aside a very good Villa team last night.

And this is now Foden's best goalscoring season by some distance, he has 21 in all competitions.

On the wider Premier League, it's encouraging that, even in Kane's absence, six of the top ten goalscorers - Solanke, Bowen, Watkins, Foden, Saka, Palmer - are English.

In fairness, that was the case last season as well.

I don't think Cole Palmer will be at Chelsea long, can see him getting a huge move to a Real Madrid or PSG in the next year or so.

I liked his attitude post game, he's extremely cold and focussed. Seems like a winner.

The 'Cold Palmer' celebration makes my eye twitch.

But yeah, top class player, he's not going to spend long at a mid-table side.
