Luka Modric will play in Serie A at 40. He will join Milan after the Club World Cup, having played nearly 600 times for Real Madrid.

just over 5 months after Jhon Duran left Villa for £71M to go to Saudi, he leaves Saudi to join Fenerbahce on a 12 month loan deal

he was on €380k a week (with no tax) in Saudi and apparently Fenerbahce are covering the entire wage for this loan

:o

He was seriously good for Forest last season. Feels very un-spursy that.

I heard a journo say yesterday they were pushing for another years loan for him. €75M would be nuts. Turkish Superlig record currently stands at €30M

actually listened to a thing yesterday where they said the Turkish league, or at least the top clubs anyway, are starting to spend more and attract better players because private investors and club sponsors are now getting much more involved in helping fund transfer fees and wages

According to MSN it seems a bid of €75m (£63m) has been accepted from Galatasary in principle so long as the Turkish club can provide certain bank guarantees. Both clubs are now working to resolve as Napoli are keen to get it done too so they can try and meet what Liverpool want for Nunez.

Spurs have Spursey'd it.

Morgan Gibbs-White deal off for now, with Forest considering legal action for what they consider to be an illegal approach to the player from Spurs.

Forest related:

forgot to mention, when I was in Greece last week I was chatting football to a fella who worked at the hotel and I mentioned Marinakis and he very causally said 'do people in England know he is mafia?'

I questioned this a bit and he said it was very well known in Greece that his business partners are criminals and he is not a man to be messed with

Yeh, this. He had a release clause, Spurs triggered it. Don't think Forest have anything to complain about.

Maranakis was whining because Spurs triggered the release clause but he was whining that how does anyone know about the release clause as a contract is private and confidential

And that’s a whole other kettle, just what is the point in a release clause, esp. if no-one knows about it?

He might have a point on tapping up as that seems to happen an awful lot despite being illegal in the game. My thought is why the hell is it illegal. In other professions you can be headhunted so why is football different? This window Bayern had apparently been talking to Wirtz, Napoli have supposedly agreed terms with Nunez and Real Madrid spend entire seasons getting into the head of any soon to be out of contract players and yet the parent club hasn’t agreed a fee or seemingly granted permission for an approach to the player.
