Extended-Phenotype I think ALF is the one to watch. Hunt is in the bowl, and we've seen it all. ALF is just peeping out the hole - we have no idea how big he is or what size of a splash he'll make when he hits the water.

ditto this... Not sure what he has peeping out of his hole... but have a feeling Alf could have a real impact this season..

Yeah, we just need to keep squeezing him out. We haven't seen much of him yet, but he feels firm and warm and has a real chance of coming out in one piece.

I really question where you've ventured in from... in a way I understand what you mean, and agree ALF is the one to watch. But why cover it in codswollop

i think alf could be one of our best strikers. he was our top scorer last season after all, even though most of his appearances were subs...

Rumour has it that Huddersfield are after Ross McCormack. Replacement or partner for Rhodes I wonder.

I think how well ALF will do depends on whether he plays in a team playing well and providing decent service. If we're competing towards the middle of the league and playing well I think he could be a 10+ man at this level comfortably. If we're struggling at the bottom with no fluency, I think he'll be a waste of a shirt.

I wouldn't be surprised if Huddersfield were playing the long game to maintain the price tag.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Rhodes move before the end of the window.

Agreed.

A Premier League team that starts the season poorly may make a mad punt at the end of the window for him.

Only way I can see Rhodes leaving is if he forces the move and makes it clear he wants out, but seeing as he comes across as a very rational and level-headed young man I just can't see that.

Current weekly wage at Huddersfield (obviously a guess) - less than £10k per week
Premier League club transfer - more than £25k per week

Ok - rational and level-headed or £750k a year more

Been offered a new deal at Huddersfield as far as I'm aware.

I think he probably realises he has time on his side. There appear to have been no signs of him purely chasing the money thus far, if he was intent on doing that then presumably he would have already told the club he wants to move on.

Previous to the club distancing themselves from this move, I heard from a Huddersfield friend that a deal was in place, but they wanted to secure a couple of replacements before confirming any deal. Their fans wont take his sale too well apparently.

Tonight an unfamiliar source corroborated this, and believes the deal is in place, contrary to what the club has said. (I can't vouch for him, but it's his take on it.)

Huddersfield are talking to Ross McCormack and another striker, although the other is apparently at an early stage.

Also the Huddersfield friend of mine also says their chairman was asked recently about Morrison still coming to the club, and he said "It's up to Reading."

File under speculation, but it does sound like there is a lot more in this.

Are Leeds actively trying to shift McCormack then? If not it is difficult to believe that Warnock will be willing to incur the wrath of the supporters further by losing another player to Huddersfield.
