They got Murray, the league's top scorer on a free. Zaha, came through the youth so he was obviously free.
Sold both Clyne and Moses (probably had an add-on for him) for decent amounts in recent years.
Now they've sold Zaha for a massive amount.

They should be in a pretty decent financial position by now.

True, but they've got a slice of fortune with their location though. South London must have 1 million people at least, and unlike North, West and East London there are no Prem teams to compete with for youngsters.

In some ways, yes, but the location restriction was one hour's travel time, which meant that all of their area was available to all other London clubs.

But that qualification has gone under EPPP, anyway - it's now a free-for-all.
