sandman Did it Sanguine? I was under the impression that Liverpool haven't won the league since 89-90, two years before the formation of the PL.
I was referencing United's 20-odd years without a title before Fergie's first. Football is cyclical. This news is not new.
Being (believe it or not) a less tribal football fan than most, I hope this doesn't spell 'a decade in the duldrums' as some in the media are headlining. The amount of money clubs like City, Chelsea, Bayern, PSG, Real Madrid etc now have to throw at the game, a 'superleague', or really boring domestic leagues, looks more and more likely. And that is (quite genuinely, apart from it giving me a massive hardon) why I think it would be 'good for the game' if Liverpool (or indeed Arsenal) took the title.
A season, or two or three, outside of the CL won't affect the United brand too much - the strength of Liverpool's brand is how they managed to sign the likes of Torres and Suarez despite years without a title - United don't lose their millions of Premier League titles overnight, and who knows what difference the likes of (rumoured) Kroos might make even next season.
