Sigurdsson is linked with Athletico Madrid as well.

Croydon Royal
Big Foot Have just clicked onto Talksport to see this as their leading story

http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/ ... trike-star

Manchester United have been linked with former Reading striker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The 21-year-old only left the Royals for Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in the summer but four goals and a series of good performances have reportedly alerted the Premier League giants.
The Icelander struck twice for his country's Under-21 side against Scotland in October, securing his team a place in the European Championship in 2012, with United scouts reportedly in the crowd.
Sigurdsson left Reading for around £6million but has seen his value rise to nearer the £9m mark in just a matter of months, thanks to his form in Germany's top tier.
Arsenal have also been linked with the forward in the past but any interest Arsene Wenger may have shown has diminished, according to reports in the Spanish media.

From Reading coach to TalkSport writer - what a fall from grace for Wally....

I'd have him back here tomorrow as a defensive coach to sort that lot out.

Just proves that all Prem teams were stupid for not moving for him directly from Reading

Hope he does come to the Prem so get to see him play (and also the sell on fee)

What's the most ever paid for a tier 2 player in England?

I am dismissing players that were sold for lots having been relegated but not kicked a ball in the div below (Defoe I think)

Defoe definitely played in Division 1 as it was, can remember him tearing our defence to pieces at Upton Park

Found the match details here - http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=400760

roadrunner I hope he goes to United or Liverpool. He's very much a Steven Gerrard type player and both clubs would benefit from a play if his ability. One way or the other I want the boy playing in the Premiership.

Someone else (or perhaps you) said this ages ago, but they're not similar at all really. They can play in a similar position yes, and they can both score from distance, but they're not actually similar type players at all.

Good to see Sigurdsson doing well for himself and now attracting even more attention from some even bigger clubs. He was so good to watch I'd love to see him come back to England where I'd get to see more of him on the TV.

£8.6m according to Soccerbase.

Bang on £8m for Davies.

Well Bales transfer to Spurs had the potential to rise to £10million with add ons and he must have triggered most of them now so surely he beats those two. Walcott settled with Southampton at £9million for Walcott (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... lcott.html)

Not quite so good today. After defeat at home to Freiburg last week Gylfi is dropped to the bench for Hoffenheim's visit to 5th place Eintracht Frankfurt. And Hoffenheim win 4-0. :|
