genome What an absolutely shocking game of football, I've wasted 3 hours of my life on football this afternoon and not a single goal was seen.

TBM If there is contact, and you're running, you'll go down....how Mike Dean came to the conclusion that Shane Long dived, i don't know

Its a joke - a dive is surely when there is no contact. Giving a player a yellow card for falling over when a player makes contact with you is just fcuking retarded.
At least Howard Webb had sense, any other ref yesterday would have booked Jay Tabb if they thought that wasn't a pen, just cos he went to ground.

Hoop Blah Might not be a dive, but it might be barging or unsporting in the eyes of the ref. As paps pointed out above, the yellow might not've been for diving.
Had he made any/many fouls before that?

genome It was a weird one. The tackle was awful and clumsy, but it looks like he dived as well.

Speaking of alleged simulation, some heads were scratched when Chris Foy cautioned Mario Balotelli in the Chelsea v Manchester City match. Although I don't necessarily agree with the decision, in response to those being incredulous about Mario being booked for 'diving', remember that simulation is not just 'diving'.
To quote from the Laws of the Game; 'A player must be cautioned for unsporting behaviour if (he)...attempts to deceive the referee by feigning injury or pretending to be fouled.'
A referee could decide that by deliberately running into an opponent then rolling around on the deck that Balotelli attempted to con him. I think that was the conclusion that Mr Foy came to.
