Rotherham now messing up to the point they could even blow automatic promotion. Which was unthinkable a few weeks ago.

3 week break for them between league games now. When they play next they will likely no longer be top and MK Dons could be 1 point behind them

Pepe the Horseman When the MK Dons fans turn on us it'll really hurt.

They should just start calling us tinpot and irrelevant from the start to win over the rest of the league.

Went to their stadium once, never again. It is the most depressing place in the Football League, just miserable.

Yeh same. Watched them beat us 1-0 and it was fcuking freezing.

Went to that one as well. We really were piss poor that day.

A surprising number of games between the play off chasers in L1 still to come. Plymouth's run in looks toughest so I am happy they won last night and are looking strong to finish in the top 6 right now

I am still laughing at Sunderland for sacking their manager when in 3rd place and are now 6th with 2 teams just a point behind them and in their 7 remaining games they still have to play the teams currently in 5th, 4th & 1st

Definitely would welcome a Plymouth promotion. Would welcome even more Plymouth away on the last day of the season next May, lovely part of the world to travel to.

There is a chance we could see one, or even 2, teams finish on 90+ points in L1 and still be in the play offs

Completely missed that (five) Philip Parkinson(s) was now Wrexham manager, and all the Hollywood that goes with that these days. And he has them in a three-way fight for the second promotion spot from the National League, with Chesterfield, and Halifax, who they beat 3-1 last night. Surprisingly good level of football.

5th, 8th and 4th since they were relegated to League One. 7th would be brilliant this time around.

Fwiw, 90 points is the record total for any club not achieving automatic promotion in the EFL, by Sunderland (Championship 97-98), and Sheffield United (League One 11-12). Record for League Two, where three sides are promoted automatically, is Accrington Stanley's 85 in 15-16. None of those three sides subsequently won the play-offs.

Kelty Hearts 16 points clear and PROMOTED to Scottish League 1 having only come up from the Lowland League last year and 5 years ago were playing in the Junior East Super League which is the 7th tier

Sutton in 10th place in L2 are only 2 points behind 4th place, and only 5 points off automatic.

8th placed Mansfields games in hand looking very significant right now

If Salford win their 2 games in hand they are right among the play off chasing pack too.

Mental how close it all is with so few games left

**retro ups and downs chat**

After the 1871 podcast with Archie I was just looking at the 95/96 season and there was only an 8 point gap between 2 places above relegation and 2 places outside the play offs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995%E2%80%9396_Football_League#First_Division

seems like a very small gap. and ends up being slightly misleading on how good a team was compared to another team

Mad that, everyone was shit away from home. We did at least though prove our 19th was no fluke. In 96-97, we finished 18th despite having the second best home record in the league.

I started going in 96-97, and mainly by happy coincidence, not least the following season, I didn't see us lose a game (was only going to Elm Park at first) until we lost 1-0 to Portsmouth in February 1998, around 17 or 18 games iirc.

In the 95-96 season Hudds finished 8th and only got 3 away wins all season. In the Championship right now everyone apart from the 3 teams in the relegation zone have won more away games than that

Forest are a statistical oddity in this season's table, where these is a remarkably low deviation in goals scored and conceded.

On Forest, they are the league's fifth top scorers, have the third best defence, but sit ninth in the league. Of their ten league defeats, seven have been by a single goal.

chucked a tenner on Forest to finish in the top 6 back in Jan at 5-1. At the time they had the 2nd best record in the division since Steve Cooper took over. Currently being offered £34 cash out

Sanguine Might have missed a discussion elsewhere, but what on earth has happened to Forest Green. They were clear and up, now no win in seven and probably looking over their shoulder.

Anyone know anything about Dorking Wanderers? They sit top of National League South, having also been top of the table when the 20-21 season was curtailed. A decade ago they were winning Division Three of the Sussex League, the first of six promotions in that time.

Would like to see Arbroath (second by two points) edge Kilmarnock for promotion from the Scottish Championship, just for a 'new' team in the SPL.

My fault.
I made comments about the fact that they were still in with a chance of 106 and said if anyone was going to do it I’d be happy if it was them. Since which time they’ve hardly won a game

6 games left of the season for most teams in League 2 and any of the top 11 could realistically go up. Last automatic place has 4 teams all tied on the same points

Has to be some great fixtures coming up between those teams still

Let it roll, and then enjoy them choking in the playoffs once again

results really going their way at the moment too. They were the only team between 6-12 to win at the weekend, and with their games in hand they really should be in the play offs this year.

Not sure about Forest, as mentioned above they seem to be an odd team. Statistically they should be much higher than they are, but yet they are still outside the top 6. Granted that could look a lot different once the games in hand have been played.

I just get the feeling Forest are going to finish 8th.
