It’s a difficult one as a, say, £1,000 fine would be life changing for some people but no deterrent whatsoever for the likes of Joelinton

People celebrating this on twitter, mostly blokes, is quite harrowing too. It does feel there are some major issues with prosecution of sexual violence, would drag Mendy into this as well who was cleared of 6 of the 8 rape accusations so far. I have seen people suggest rape is very hard to get a conviction for rape, indeed roughly 1% of reported rapes end in a charge which just doesn't seem right at all.
