sheshnu It's not even really performances that matter, just points. Performances only matter when they help you console yourself after a defeat.

I think they can give you a good idea of what the side is capable of - both highs and lows.

For example, again us, last season, what was worrying was that we seemed more up for it in the bigger games and tended to do poorly against teams around us. Given that we seemed to peg everything on beating Fulham and Bolton at home and having "three teams worse than us", this seemed a rather unhelpful attribute.

Royal Rother Doyle has scored more goals this season than Phillips, McSheffrey, Bent and Jerome put together.

Reading have scored 14 more goals than Birmingham this season.

Points are all that matter at the end of the day / season but there's not a lot of evidence so far to suggest that Birmingham are miles better than us, or (certainly) that their strikers are much better than ours.

tut tut. You are letting facts colour your judgement again. As a veteran of HNA you should know that is unacceptable. The art of a successful case is to ignore facts and pass off unfounded opinion as gospel truth. Do get up to speed please.

I would have thought that Brum would be looking to be more creative in midfield. With those forwards, they should be up with us and Wolves in the "Goals For" column.

Maybe they'd see Kits as a good link man? I doubt it. And I'm sure he wouldn't want to come back down so quickly, he's too big-headed for that.

Got a contact who is a member of the senior coaching staff at Stoke.

Kits is off in January if they find a taker. Wife's just given birth and she has/had serious post natal depression and is finding things really tough being in the middle of nowhere.

Also been told categorically that Stoke are not going to adapt their style of play in any way whatsoever so a mix of footballing / family reasons are forcing the issue.

On a similar note, Pulis now regretting the sigining of Sonks as they've onLOLy just discovered he has no ability on the ball.

Literally LOLaughing all the way to the bank.

PS. No chance Kits will come back to us.

great scouting there then. Makes me wonder what games they watched him in if they have only just realised this?

IMAMATEOFJOVSKY
Deathy
IMAMATEOFJOVSKY 4 classy strikers - of which one has scored most of their "few goals"! If they were so lethal up front they would have more goals on the board than anyone else - they haven't so cant be that classy! Must of got nosebleeds on Friday - they scored 3 rather than the usual 1

Bent, McSheffers, Philips and Jerome > Long and Mooney.

Doyle N Hunt >Bent, McSheffers, Philips and Jerome !!!

Yes, agreed, and then we have Long and Mooney. Then it hits home how fragile our promotion bid is.

They've only just realised about Sonko

You really do wonder about some people 'in football' .

The generality of fans have a lot more football wisdom than they are credited for by 'people in football'.

I'm LOLing at having "ability on the ball" being a requirement for playing for Stoke. How shit must you be if Pulis thinks your ball skills aren't good enough?

Sarah Star They are not miles better than us and they never have been...apart from our performance against Southampton.

But Birmingham weren't at the Mad on Saturday.

Ah, point taken.

Ave it!

Anyway, to the people 'loling' at £5.5m for Kitson: it won't, and probably will never be, £5.5m. That was as a clause to staying up, and regardless of whether they do stay up or not, if he's not there come February you can kiss that clause bye-bye. £3.5m was the price paid. Still ok business for him, but not the £5.5m loling that people are stating.

I would anticipate there being clauses inserted regaring additonal monies coming our way should he leave.

You may find that the contract states extra payments upon Stoke staying up not being dependent on Kitson actually still be there.

you just know if we were 2-0 up with a win promoting us that he'd pop up and net a hatrick

I don't get it... Playing for us to make it 5-0? Or playing for Stoke making his hat-trick irrelevant to us? Or has he signed for Birmingham?

The team or team/club won't see any of that anyway, thats why I don't want us to sell players. We are like cork city, sell a fair few players and none of it invested in the team, kind of like micael knighton at carlisle.

Kits & Shorey - Worst Premier League summer transfers?

by Arnie_Pie » 04 Dec 2008 19:16

Kits and Shorey on the worst Top 10 list according to the Telepgraph. Shame to see it and shame they wanted to move onto 'bigger things' but then again, it only highlights the fact that it was good to get rid. £10 mill for the two? Good business.
