Anfield Kopite I knew little about Rogers when Liverpool appointed him. I obviously knew that his Swansea team played nice football and finished mid table last season but that was pretty much it. When i joined on here a couple of nobbers gave me the low down on why they thought he would fail. I said i hoped they were wrong but feared they were right. I have not given up on him but the comments about the 'near perfect performance' on Thursday were ridiculous.

The mask is slipping.

Are we really sure that this is not Jay?

You really are a tit.

If you mean getting me riled you are very wrong. I was just commenting on how original your post was. And how very very funny. I mean, ive never ever been called Jay on here. Or been told to calm down calm down. Yours must have been the funniest post of the year so far. congratulations.

Back on topic - Thought we played quite well today against a poor and under strenghth Swansea. Still cant believe how Webb didnt give a pen for a foul on Sturridge at 0 - 0. More of a pen than the one the linesman gave for a foul on Saurez. Played some really good stuff throughout the game. Jekyl and Hyde stuff again over the last week.

very much a "changed, possibly weakened" Swansea team tho.

Still 5-0 is a 5-0

Yes,a weakened Swansea team but Liverpool did have a game in Russia on Thursday night so preparation for this game would have been cut short.
Having said that,I think clubs make rather too much about players needing to be rested and IIRC more injuries are sustained during training than in actual matches.

Considering players train 5 days a week then play a match for 90 mins does that surprise you?

It doesn't surprise me but my point was that players are rested from games for fear of getting an injury but I suspect those players aren't rested from training where more injuries occur.
BTW Carragher 150 games in Europe-not a bad achievement that has taken 5 years less than Giggs to get to the same figure.

A very good effort against a decent team that finished just 1 point behind AC Milan in their Champions' League group and we saw what AC Milan can do last night.

Just lacked composure in the last 10 minutes, not the barnstorming finish you'd normally expect. Assaidi looks a decent prospect, if a little raw. Trickier and quicker than Sterling.

Well played Liverpool. A near perfect home performance. Nothing like a bit of Glorious Failure to make you feel good about yourself and curse your luck/the opposition/the officials' performances - we've all been there.

I bet Coates was happy not to have made the tie losing mistake (I wonder if Rodgers has it in him to blame a Club Legend for their exit?)
