Mr Optimist
Dare to Dr£am Rangers into the Scottish 3rd Division and Pompey 10 points deduction is fantastic news. Both deserve it, and more.

I would love to see Pompey slip into League 2 this season.

I don't see why they should be gifted a place in Division 3 when the Highland league teams have to win promotion to the leagues.

You can't "win" promotion to SFL3.

Why stop at league 2?, I'd take Conference.

I'd take total winding up and closure.

Do Division 3 clubs have to agree to Rangers playing in Division 3? And if so, what happens if they don't?

It's prolly too late for anyone to see but they're interviewing a representative of the Rangers London Supporters Club on sky news at the moment and he looks like they just found him on a bench

No sound but I expect he's crying about how it's all so unfair

The Scottish Football league (Div 1, 2 and 3) meet today.

They have 2 resolutions

1/ the accept "newco rangers" into the Scottish Football League

2/ if that is successful then there is a 2nd vote about which league they go into

All clubs in all 3 divisions vote at the same time, it is not like Div1 vote and if they don't take them div 2 vote ...

Ta.

So it is possible that they vote 'no' to 1), and then Rangers presumably have to apply for entry to the SFL like the Highland League clubs do?

That is what they are doing now, applying to the SFL like Highland League clubs have to.

If they vote no to 1 they vote no.

The twist is the 2nd vote about what league they come into which is unusual and is being done to try to protect revenues.

SFA announcement expected to follow confirmation of the above by the SFL. Could it be the formation of SPL 2 or suspension of rangers for 12 months?

Scottish Football League chief executive David Longmuir has revealed 25 of the 30 SFL clubs voted in favour of Rangers playing in Division Three.

Good, I am glad to see the bullying from the SFA and the SPL did not influence them

Rangers Bullying tactics?

It wasn't Rangers that offered the SFL an expanded SPL, extra money etc etc etc

Yeah. I'm sure all the media scare stories of financial meltdown and the treats to form an SPL2, cutting off the SFL completely, were all made without any hint of input from anyone connected to Rangers.

Funnily enough, I bet in a few years time Rangers will look back on the years out of the SPL with some affection.

Has there been a vote on which of Dundee or Dunfermline goes up to the SPL?
