Tony Le Mesmer West Ham surely in line to join this thread again. Just where the hell has the money come from all of a sudden?

Promotion to the Premier League?

That old one.

Promotion to the Prem just means costs outstrip income even more.

Same old story, fans will milk the big signing's, happy to go with it, then give the sob story when it all goes wrong. There is no way on earth that one promotion pays for the signings West Ham have made and/or targeting. Still, im sure the prospect of the Allardyce/Caroll hoof fest is more than worth the risk for Hammers fans.

And if they go down?....watch this space

Ideal The Leyton Orient chairman has repeatedly said the stadium is "unsuitable for football" and would not apply for it if another application process is announced.

we remain of the view that the Olympic Stadium is not fit for football use and that it would be much better served as an athletics and other community use stadium - including non-football sports

or....

I don't see anything wrong with West Ham and Orient sharing fixtures there.
“ I had a Martin Luther King moment - I had a dream. I looked at the Olympic Stadium and said 'why not' [share with West Ham]?”
"On the one hand, a Premier League giant with all their money and on the other a community club with dreams. I think the more the merrier.

Nether of the Orient or West Ham owners are particularly interested in the futures of their clubs.

They're both much more interested in being given a brand new stadium at public expense and being able to sell the land the current grounds stand on and pocket the cash that brings in. They're all a bunch of slimy weasels.

No no - Barry Hearn is no weasel - he saved Orient and is only interested in the new stadium because he fears the Shammers will pinch even more Orient fans - rest assured he cares very much about the O's future!

This is the same Barry Hearn who pocketed the excess cash from selling off the corners of Brisbane Road? The one who took over running of the refreshment facilities in the main stand there and who pockets the profits, as well as charging the football club rent for those facilities?

And the same Barry Hearn who sent a letter to the Premier League saying "we know it's inevitable a PL club will get the Olympic Stadium, but please can you make sure it's Spurs and not West Ham?"

Like the vast majority of owners, the first love of Barry Hearn is his bank balance, and the long term health of one of his assets is way down the list of priorities.

Are you confusing Barry Hern with Barry Norman?

err no - lol - I actually have a lot of time for him and can see his point - he has done good things at Orient and I respect anyone who has the balls to stand up to the self styled "academy of football"

Why should he not look after his own bank balance as well as operating in Orient's best interests, as surely nobody is denying he does? He makes no claim to be a philanthropist.

He's like a small time John Madejski.

Rangers have just kicked off their first Third Division match against Peterhead. Could get interesting, seeing as they beat East Fife 4-0 in the cup and they are in the league above them.

2-2 Rangers score a 90th minute equaliser. Maybe this won't be as easy as they thought.

Why are Newco wearing the badge & stars in Div 3.
This club has won f*ck all and have no right to wear them.
Might as well celebrate the achievements of sellic on their shirts for all they symbolise.

I just think that it'll be great for the minnows....every Rangers game is their cup game..and every game a sell out....no "development team" line-ups from the 'Gers.

Big bunce and plenty of coverage

It's not though is it. They're a new club, the same way Aldershot is. If it was the same club, they wouldn't be in division 3.
Different club, different company, same fans. Yes.

Can you explain why they are playing in Division 3 then? Because they didn't get relegations, they got kicked out the league and it looked to me like they had to re-enter as a new club.
