The 1 month Greenlandic National Championship wrapped up at the weekend with Nagdlunguaq-48 beating Nuuk-B67 on penalties in the final having drawn 2-2 at the end of normal time.

Their season only runs for 1 month due to weather and for the other 11 months they play indoor 5 a side and Futsal. Due to covid this was their first completed football season since 2019.

Listened to an interesting thing on Norweigen football yesterday.

Due mainly to Bodo/Glimt's recent heroic adventures, Norway have risen up the coefficient table and are now sat in 12th. They are not far off 10th place and have a real shot at taking that in the next season or 2 with the result then being that Norway would have a team automatically in the group state of the Champions League.

Heard an interesting discussion which basically said Norweigen fans are split on this as it would be a great achievement for their league to have risen up to be the 10th best, but would inevitably mean that one team, Bodo/Glimt, would then become far wealthier than any of the other clubs and could potentially damage Norweigen football.

Newly relegated St-Etienne sit bottom of Ligue 2 after 3 games. They lost 6-0 at home today having had 3 players sent off.

Didn't a similar thing happen with Rosenborg in the 90's? Won 13 titles in a row on the back of Champions League revenue.

11 red cards issued in Ligue 1 on Saturday, incl 4 in the Auxerre game (along with the 3 issued to St-Etienne in L2)

Wonder if that is a change of refereeing in France

Former Derby full-back Lee Buchanan with the first Bremen goal, too.

Here's the Auxerre game. Reds start from around 1:45. Can't work out what the second one is for at all.

Inaki Williams! No!

He has played 236 consecutive league games for Athletic Bilbao, which is a little silly, and must be some sort of record for an outfield player. He was taken off injured in the second half of Bilbao's 4-0 win over Cadiz on Monday with what the club are calling 'sprained ankle ligaments'. It looks like his run might be over - unless he makes a miracle recovery ahead of their next game in four days' time.

I was watching the game and saw a cameo appearance from ex Reading midfielder Alex Fernandez who had a face mask on looking like Zorro. That was the warm-up before the Valencia Atletico Madrid match which was fiesty from the very first kick.

Goals. PSV enjoying domestic games so far this season. Which I guess shows the gulf in class between the Dutch league and 'the big five', given they lost to Rangers and failed to qualify for the CL.

4-1
5-2
6-1
7-1

They also beat Ajax 5-3 in the Johan Cruyff Shield. It's ten domestic games since PSV kept a clean sheet, but they've won nine of them.

in January Winston Biscuit Was listening to something this morning where Club Brugge attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere was being massively hyped. He is expected to win the award this week for the best player in Belgium and they were saying pretty much anyone who is anyone is watching him

Only just seen that he joined AC Milan this summer

Started his first match for Milan last week against Bologna and was named man of the match after a spectacular performance.

Some excitement in Italy that one of future world stars is in their league

Frankfurt kicking into gear ahead of their Champions League debut on Wednesday following up a 4-3 win at Bremen with a 4-0 demolition of Leipzig. Starting to look like a very good team, Götze looking like the player of old too.

Very excited to be taking Stranded Jr to his first match next Saturday when they host Wolfsburg.

Psg all time top scorers are insanely low, and I forgot how new a club they are

1 Edinson Cavani 200

2 Kylian Mbappé 180

3 Zlatan Ibrahimović 156

4 Neymar 110

....'Scenes' in Turin tonight and Juve come from 2 goals down to Salernitana

... Bonucci levels at 2-2 in stoppage time 93' - with a volleyed rebound ... from his own pen which was well saved.

Home side then take the lead from the next attack - a corner put in on the near post but someone had strayed just offside in the middle, so it got VAR'd out - mayhem on the touch line. :P

.... Followed by a flurry of Red Cards and I believe they finished with 8 or 9 men - not sure the Ref even bothered to count at the restart 8)

The really great thing is that there was a Salernitana defender near the corner flag playing everyone onside the whole time but the blokes on VAR only checked the penalty area

Still, its Juve who had the refs on the payroll for about 2 decades so its all extremely funny.
