CVA for Coventry to exit administration rejected. What will happen to their fixture commitment for this season now?

SKY (yeah I know, I know) reporting Cov going into Liquidation and discussing points penalties of -15 or more. Erm, how can something which is liquidated continue to survive :?:

my thoughts exactly m8.

Feel sorry for them and all that but not if we're going to see some newco shenanigans popping up in their place.

They haven't even bought a trophy like Pompey to get in this position.

Shocking form...

It's going to be the standard formula of AFC Coventry City with wiped debts and -15 points to start the season and life continues as normal, as always seems to happen with football clubs

I'm half expecting that. Some paper said earlier that 'a part of Coventry City' was being liquidated, but not the whole club.. whatever that means. Somehow, one way or another, they will continue. A club with their history wont be allowed to go out of existence.

I read that Coventry City FC ltd, who are majority owners of Coventry City FC, are the ones going into liquidation.

So basically you can run a football club via 2 or more companies, stick all the debts under one then when it goes pear shaped, liquidate the bad one and crack with nowt to worry about but a measly points deduction :?: :|

So if that keeps the football club safe, then why don't all clubs have a set-up like it? It's utterly ridiculous.

Coventry City to start League One season with only 10-point deduction

• Coventry City FC Limited is facing liquidation
• Groundshare with Northampton Town to go ahead

http://www.theguardian.com/football/201 ... CMP=twt_gu

Coventry City will begin their League One campaign on minus-10 points, rather than minus-15 as many had anticipated, after the Football League imposed the sanction because part of the club is facing liquidation.

The Football League announced on Friday evening that the "golden share" allowing Coventry to play in the League had been transferred from the club's former owner, Sisu, to Otium Entertainment, in exceptional circumstances.

Being reported that only 215 season tickets have been sold at Coventry. With their fans turning against the club, with the whole stadium fiasco, unless someone pumps money into the club it's hard to see how they'll survive.

I really fail to understand why they get give them -10 points. Surely the FA would want to help not put further issues on them.

Not an FA issue - all down to the FL how they regulate their own league.

The fans seem to hate Sisu, but they didn't move grounds and sign up to the extortionate rental deal. I don't understand how the FL can reassign the golden share when there's no agreed CVA - that has to be the major asset of the administrator and why would they agree to it.
