One of Rangers or Viktoria Plzen likely to set an unwanted CL record this week. The worst group performance in the competition's history is Dinamo Zagreb's six defeats in 2011-12, with a goal difference of -19. As it stands, both teams have lost their first five group games (albeit Plzen got a right arse of a group), Rangers' GD currently -18 (they go to Ajax), and Plzen -17 (they host Barcelona).

Daniel Maldini's goal against AC Milan for Spezia is the first Maldini goal against the Rossoneri since Paolo Maldini's own goal in the 3-3 draw against Atalanta in 2002/03. Overall it is the 7th goal Milan conceded because of a Maldini in Serie A - Cesare 4, Paolo 2, Daniel 1

That's a fantastic story. Born close to Zabrze, despite moving to Germany when he was 2, he's a lifelong fan and vowed to finish his career at Gornik. Ordinarily he'd be way beyond their budget.

Just noticed that Betis Vs Sevilla is on some obscure subscription channel tonight. That is the game in Spain I would most like to attend. Its considered the fiercest rivalry in Spanish football. I have a soft spot for Betis too.

Derby D'italia (Inter Vs Juve) starting on BT Sport shortly

Swedish league finished today with BK Hacken crowned champions for the first time ever

Norwegian league has 1 game left and Molde have already taken back the title from Bodo/Glimt in emphatic style as they are 18 points clear at the top

HJK won their 11th league title in 14 seasons in Finland, this time with Conor Hazard in goal who is on loan from Celtic

Always hard to judge league strength, but Hacken were thrashed by Aberdeen in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds this season.

Their squad includes Bromley-born Jamaican Blair Turgott, who played for England's age group sides.

Gérard Pique was meant to be playing his last ever game for Barcelona tonight. He was a sub but got sent off for abusing the officials when he was on the bench before coming on. Lol

16 year old Simone Pafundi called up to the Italian national team squad for their upcoming friendlies after just 1 appearance for Udinese which was 22 minutes as a sub

He has apparently been a regular in Udinese's under 19 team since he was 14 and is a name many Italian football fans already know as he is talked of as a potential future star

Very much one to watch out for!

Disappointed that AC Milan scored an injury time winner which mans Napoli go into the world cup break with an 8 point lead rather than 10 point

Napoli have dropped just 4 points so far this season

Saint-Etienne in a mess at the bottom of French 2nd div. Having come down from the top division last season, then got in a financial mess, started this season on minus points and they are now bottom of Ligue 2. Also 4 teams are going down from Ligue 2 this season (also 4 down from Ligue 1) as they try and cut down the number of teams in the french divisions

Their goalkeeper is Etienne Green, born in Colchester and a year or so ago talked up as being one of the better young goalkeepers to keep an eye on. made it into the England under 21 squad last year.

So St Etienne, nicknamed Les Verts (The Greens), have a player called Etienne Green.

yeah! Ive mentioned it before as I find it such a cool thing. He was actually named after Saint-Etienne and now plays for them. We need to find a family called The Blue&Whites and get them to name their baby Ding
