One for Stranded, I suppose but German league football ceased on November 13 and doesn't restart until January 20 . Some winter break that.

Inter equalised in the 88th minute against 2nd div Parma and then scored again to win it in extra time. Gianluigi Buffon, who turns 45 in 2 weeks time, in goal for Parma pulled of a great save in stoppage time

Yep. Season always has a break between the week before Xmas and late Jan. Clubd were still playing friendlies up to the end of the WC. Most are playing each other in Dubai at the mo. Eintracht beat Leipzig 4-2 on Monday as an example.

Extra long this year as they just added the WC break to it rather than replace it. Due to playing 4 less games than the PL, Bundesliga still finishes the day before the PL - 27/28 May.

Buffon now 9th on the list of all-time 'official appearances' (1,160), ten behind Ray Clemence.

Talking of longevity, the current longest-serving player in England with a single club is MK Dons' Dean Lewington, who is in his 19th season with the club, and even more remarkably, save for a couple of injuries, he has been their first-choice left-back for the entire time. Before the end of season Lewington, who is 38, may become only the fifth English footballer to reach 800 league appearances.

Bloody hell! He scored his first league goal on Boxing Day at the MadStad in 2003 in the pissing down rain. Jobi scored Wimbledon's 3rd goal and Leigertwood was in midfield for them.

Reading's youngest player in that game, Steve Sidwell, played his last League match in May 2017. Even Shorey, who plays in the same position and is 3 years older than Lewington, stopped playing in May 2016.

Winston Biscuit
6ft Kerplunk
Winston Biscuit ITV4 Sunday night Atletico Vs Barca

How long have ITV4 been showing La Liga? Had totally missed that they were and just found the match last night when scrolling down the Sky TV guide.

This is the first season they have done it. They have a 3 season contract for it

Its not regular though. They just seem to randomly pick an interesting game now and again. There is currently no next La Liga game scheduled for ITV4 https://www.live-footballontv.com/live-spanish-football-on-tv.html

From memory the contract is only for Barca or Real Madrid select matches played on Sunday's.

Contract was for 10 live games a year and all of them must include Barca, Real or Atletico.

The Kings League is a new 7 a side league started up in Spain. its headed up by Gerard Pique and he has got a bunch of other former footballers and youtube 'stars' to buy into the idea and act as ambassadors for different teams

Last night someone played in it who is an active la Liga player, so was not allowed to play, but played in a mask to hide his identity and only went under the name Enigma

Apparently it is Nano Mesa, of Cadiz, currently loaned to second tier Logrones. Mesa gained infamy after Cadiz's promotion in 2019-20 when during an interview immediately after securing that promotion he repeatedly shouted 'I'm a fcuking animal!' at the interviewer.

Porto to offer to renew Pepe's contract until 2025, when he will be 42.

Just getting in with the first mention of Warren Zaïre-Emery. 16 year old defensive midfielder who played his 7th game for PSG at the weekend and is getting lots of praise so far this season

Braga on a great run in Portugal. Beat league leaders Benfica 3-0 a couple of weeks back and now in 2nd place, 4 points off the top. Though 4 points is a lot in the Portuguese league

7 points from the last 3 games for Saint-Etienne gets them off the foot of the Ligue 2 table and are now 3rd from bottom. Le Havre starting to run away with it at the top. they have had 2 seasons in Ligue 1 in the last 20
