Probably go the same way as the rumoured Barcelona "ban", nowhere.

8 games left for Barcelona and they have conceded just 9 goals. Record minimum goals conceded in a top division season there is 18

Vinicius Jr once again subjected to racist chanting in Spain, this time at Girona.

Incredible. And three of those were at Real Madrid in October. Have currently conceded just three in their last 15 league games.

And still no opposition player has scored from open play in the league at the Nou Camp this season. Which is ridiculous. Two home league goals conceded this season. Espanyol scored a penalty on New Year's Eve, and Real's goal in their defeat in March was an Araujo own goal.

Fwiw, I think Chelsea's 15 goals conceded in 2004/05 is a 'top five' leagues record.

That team doesn't get enough credit imo.

that was a fantastic team, top 5 all time PL behind Arsenal invisibles, Man U treble, Arsenal 1998 and Leicester

Not quite as good as Liverpool in 1978/79. Chelsea's would work out at 0.39 or so goals conceded a game, Liverpool's record (16 conceded in 42 games) would amount to 0.38 goals conceded a game (plus they would not have had the benefit of quite so many games against teams just making up the numbers in the division).

don't think Arsenal invicibles team were one of the very best we have seen tbh. Not sure that is even a controversial opinion to hold either.

to go unbeaten a whole season is obviously an achievement in itself. But its a trying not to lose achievement rather than a trying to win everything achievement.

For me, going unbeaten is just not enough of a factor in determining whether a team is good or not. The fact you could be 'invincibles' and be relegated kind of proves this.

I think they are, surely it is an achievement that only the best of the best can do? And nobody has ever done it since

best of the best would get most points/wins. 'invincibles' is celebrating not losing games, rather than winning games.

who was best:

A. Man City in 17/18 with 100 points, 2 losses and a GD of +79
or
B. Arsenal in 03/04 with 90 points, 0 losses and a GD of +47

damn this is a tough question

would that make liverpool who came second to Man City in that season better then Arsenal invisibles?

there is no definitive answer, as the competition from one season is a different strength to another. We only have opinions.

This, albeit in my lifetime, I don't think we've seen two better English league teams than the City and Liverpool who finished on 98 and 97 points respectively. Liverpool were 25 points clear of third.

City got 100 points the season before, 198 points over the two years. Liverpool won the title in 19-20 with 99 points, 196 over those two seasons. I'd be surprised if I see that matched again.

The levels City in particular have set are crazy. Any other era, and Klopp has three league titles at Anfield. And City, who can still reach 94 points this season, are going to 'do a City' to Arsenal. Seven wins in a row, nine in ten games. Don't be surprised if they win their last seven games too.

93rd minute winner for Valencia last night. Their 2nd win in 5 days and they are now 2 points out of the relegation zone.

That equaliser looks suspicious as f**k! I am mentally bookmarking that for any future match fixing scandal talk. The noise when the winner goes in though! ::chefs kiss::

Sevilla have picked up 13 points from the last 5 games and their relegation fears look long gone

If Lazio fail to win at Inter tomorrow, Napoli can seal the Serie A title with a home win over Salernitana.

In Portugal, nine-time Europa League entrants Maritimo are battling a first relegation to Segunda Divisao for nearly 40 years, currently in 18th and facing a relegation play-off in May.

The Belgian Pro League is mad. Despite being top since October, Genk are now part of the league's four-team 'championship play-off, also featuring Union Saint-Gilloise, Antwerp and Club Brugge. Teams play each other twice, albeit with them retaining half of their season league points, Genk start eight points ahead of Brugge and two ahead of USG and Antwerp.
