Hoop Blah Carterton have pulled out of the Hellenic Premier having lost a manager, a team, got new managers, lost them and never really having team in the meantime. They'd not turned up to 4 or 5 games due to a lack of players so it sounds like they've just been fighting off the inevitable there.

Burnham are really struggling with their Senior side, again.

What a shame - such a good facility there, pitch and clubhouse.

Horrible club to referee mind you.

Carterton or Burnham?

Thought it must be, the pitch at The Gore has been horrendous for years!

Royal Rother Thought it must be, the pitch at The Gore has been horrendous for years!

... actually was notably decent looking when I was there for the Binfield game a week or so back - won't last - terrible drainiage issues up there.

Carterton : hadn't been for quite a few years can only really remember the quaint bar up above the pitch behind some odd/patio-roof garden balcony.

Oh and the names are indeed quaint at NL but Russell Olympic who won their Cup replay vs Soham, isn't some kind of Greco-TOWIE extra - they are actually 'Rushall' Olympic :P based not far from Walsall - currently in the Evostik Northern Premier.

Last night (Wed) saw Fleet Town exit the Cup in a 1-0 defeat aet at Slimbridge and the Terras actually won their replay vs Paulton 2-1 - the FA Site is notoriously prone to minor inaccuracies as covered before.

To complete the round up the B&B Senior Cup started this midweek too - MK Dons winning 4-1 at Chalfont St P in the 1st Rnd. Future ties at this stage are Maidenhead v Aylesbury Utd; Didcot v Hungerford and Sluff quite aptly drawn at home against their former landlords SYCOB for the pleasure of taking on MK Dons
Four sides got byes to the 1/4s - Aylesbury host Chesham; Marlow & Wantage await winners of the other two ties above.

The lesser Senior Trophy for STEP05 clubs starts early next month -
1st Round
Ascot v Highmoor/IBIS winners at holders Flackwell in the 1/4s, scheduled for mid November.
Bracknell v Thatcham - winners host Holmer Green
...other two 1/4s
NPT v Burnham
Binfield v Windsor

FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round this w/e incl Fri/Sun KOs - Bracknell go up the A44 to Hook Norton tomorrow evening. Will try and get up a preview tomorrow/Sat AM - obviously a bit tied up Fri night :? ... and earlier in the evening been commited to charging around sorting out some Rugby Boots for youngest and getting his U14 player registration forms completed for his BYDFL season which starts on Sat. 11:00 KOs at Prospect - could put a minor crimp on NL jaunts if I have to get him there and watch .....

Went there to watch Sluff a couple of three seasons back. I hadn't noticed how low Town had slipped; now down in UCL Div One, a STEP below Windsor. Seem to be OK at home - put 8 past Burton Pk a week or so back but wouldn't make a comparison with CCLP level - Windsor should be OK :? Get through and they'll host Edgware from the SSM - - reformed club and they sometimes travel in some numbers too so could be quite entertaining?

... am giving the 'Far Orient' a miss this weekend - unfortunately what with domestic chores and youngests' season starting at Prospect Pk this AM, means my range is limited. Missus kindly took him though and is watching (his game has kicked off at least 1/2 hr late  - pretty normal for BYDFL games where there are multiple pitches and sometimes only a few refs to go round.... ) Likely destination will be a new ground for us in the Vase but not that many within sensible range, in leagues that we are targetting - top two on the list Harpenden or Stotfold - so not quite as far round the Orbital - hope it behaves. :|

i think Windsor are trying to break the record for most players used whilst not being a total disaster of a side! I'll be withholding my money until it's a football TEAM and not a glorified trial side. Will get in a few weekend breaks with non league games dotted in to get my fix i think.

Four Of Clubs Today's NL fixtures
Winchester City v Hereford - could be a sizeable turnout for this one

/b]

482. Less than our game against Salisbury, but a decent turnout. Hereford won 2-0 but it was a decent performance from Winch and a massive improvement from when we lost 4-0 to Tiverton. Most of us were expecting to get stuffed 5 or 6. Hereford fans were largely a decent bunch, but one group seemed to find it enormously funny winding up a couple of 13 year olds in Saints shirts by singing play up pompey. ho hum.

There are only two teams below us in the league - and we are playing both of them in the next couple of league games. Hopefully that will see us move up the table a bit. The side is starting to come together at last - though there are rumours it may be too late for the manager.

Didcot 0 - Mangotsfield 2

Wet and warm conditions. Decent enough display by the home team, but the most amusingly titled team in the division were just too strong overall. Plenty of diving and moaning from the away side. Ref seemed influenced by this. Half decent crowd (112) considering it was pouring down prior to kick off.

LOL at the continual usage of the long throw by player manager, Ballard. Change it up a bit, m8 or at least beat the first defender.

...apols - took a while to put this together - mainly due to the FA Vase results being spread around a bit - didn't trust the FA site to have got the scores right, so hope the official individual league sources I got them from are accurate.....

..couldn't do it earlier this eve - as I was out watching the 'Moles' retake top spot with a good battling 2-1 win over Thatcham in the Hellenic Premier.

NL Scores from this w/e

Saturday 10th September
FA Vase 1st Qualifying
91 London Bari 3-0 Newbury Forest
92 FC Clacton 0-1 Enfield 1893
93 Wivenhoe Town 1-2 Wadham Lodge
94 FC Broxbourne Borough 3-2 Cornard United
95 Takeley {SEVEN} 7-2 Tower Hamlets
96 Halstead Town 3-2 Hadley
97 Langford 2-2 Baldock Town A w pens 4-5

99 Hadleigh United 1-0 Debenham LC
100 Burnham Ramblers 2-1 London Lions
101 Harpenden Town 1-3 Ilford aet FT 1-1
- Got here – eventually: M4 beyond jn 7/A404(M) nr Handy X and M25 jn 16-18 were completely phcucked, so in spite of allowing for 45’ extra travelling time we still arr 15’ late. Wasn't a great game either - constant drizzle didn't help - ET not particularly welcoming, as the game was pretty bereft of real excitement. Glad to get a new ground in and the way the M'ways were behaving glad to get one in at all!

102 Whitton United 0-4 Biggleswade United
103 Woodbridge Town 4-1 Hatfield Town

117 Kensington Borough 0-2 Thrapston Town
118 Brackley Town Saints 3-3 Leighton Town aet FT 2-2
119 Spelthorne Sports 0-0 Tring Athletic (very) minor point of interest at this one - reportedly they DIDN'T go to ET, which is supposed to be mandatory in the Vase - word is the home side refused? :?

121 Bicester Town 3-2 Potton United
122 FC Deportivo Galicia 0-1 Irchester United
123 London Tigers 3-1 Cogenhoe United
124 Daventry Town 3-1 Windsor  oh dear – didn’t expect that – maybe the UCL is stronger at it’s second tier than I imagined or as RR suggested was a possibility, perhaps Windsor had too many new faces to incorporate.
125 Stotfold 2-2 North Greenford United
126 Bedford 0-1 CB Hounslow United

189 Cullompton Rangers 3-2 Wincanton Town
190 Shepton Mallet 1-6 (SIX) Tavistock
191 Radstock Town 3-6 (SIX) Torpoint Athletic - both these big away wins for the Devonian clubs adds evidence to the argument that the S.Western Peninsula league is probably far stronger than the official feeder to the Western Premier i.e. its own First Division
192 Wellington AFC 0-1 Bishop Sutton
193 Keynsham Town 4-2 Ivybridge Town
194 Cheddar 2-1 Elburton Villa

Sunday 11th Sept
107 Codicote 0-3 St Margaretsbury
130 Amersham Town 0-2 Highmoor Ibis
- Was at this – lovely warm sunny afternoon up in the Chilterns – the ground is very picturesque but sadly football not a great draw up here. Several hundreds more than at the match flocking into the town for its Heritage Day – att here probably touched 70 odd and a significant number of these being of the Anorak fraternity. No hot food and as expected only the bare minimum number of programmes produced – tbf H/I were unlikely to travel in great numbers either. Highmoor were their efficient functional norm and it didn’t make for a great spectacle, as the hosts are a desperately limited side from two steps below.
Marcus himself entered the fray late on to help keep the ball upfield and prevent any chance of an upset - he ‘ran’ around as best he could in hot conditions. H/I all worked hard enough to preserve a lead they grabbed just before H/T. The game was made safe late on as Amersham tired and had too few covering defenders to keep out a quick break – Marcus sensibly leaving a through ball for a faster attacker to run onto from an onside position.

At one point the Beeb had the FT score as 3-2 Home win – in fact Hungerford equalised in the last minute to salvage a point. Pewsey Vale 5-5 Fleet Spurs can’t begin to relay the scoring sequence here – too dizzying but an apt comment indeed on Spurs’ own website saying the game was ‘thrilling’ but more goals were as the result of ‘poor defence than outstanding attacking play’. :D

Abbey Rangers 2-0 Windsor

I didn't go to this one as was watching the u18s v Binfield.

I don't KNOW this is the case this season but certainly in the past a number of the Windsor players have also played for Sunday teams. That would mean they would have played Sat / Sun and Mon.

If it is the case that would certainly explain why it was a crap performance as has been reported by fellow fans tonight.

Difficult to impose any rules or a code of practice as it were when the players aren't paid a bean by Windsor.

Windsor slumped to a 0-2 defeat at new boys Abbey Rangers - who play up at Addlestone Moor very close to jn 11 of the M25. They stay in 3rd with 15 points from 9 games. All the teams around them are in action this week, all have at least 2 games in hand - Westfield in 2nd place just above them have only played 5 games winning them all.

...well the chasing pack all made up ground on Hartley at the top of the CCL - meaning after this midweeks' results Windsor slip back to 6th

Westfield thumped RPV 5-0 and are still on 100%.
Knaphill won by the same score H v Chertsey
Walton & H won 2-1at Hanworth Villa and Bedfont Sports 2-0 at CWU.
Just behind Windsor now are Guildford, with games in hand ,who smashed seven past Farnham who scored three themselves.

In the Hellenic: Burnham were again on the end of a hiding, 7-2 at Ascot; that's 0 points from 10 games with 59 goals conceded. They host the side just above them, Brackley Saints this w/e.
Thame's impressive start continues with a 4-3 win at Ardley.
Bracknell surprisingly dropped points in a 1-1 draw at 'home' to Henley. HIghworth continue to climb the table after a poor start with a 2-1 win over Nomads.

Up in the Southern League (Premier) Sluff grab top spot thanks to a Harris late goal at Weymouth and Chipp'num's home defeat to Banbury. In the same division Basingstoke lost again 0-2 at Kings Langley whilst HandY picked up a vital three points with 1-0 win v Chesham - the match had to be played at SYCOB due to safety issues with the new Skyex ground. Until these are resolved they will be nomadic for a week or three - next game v Worthing at AFC Hayes.

Finally in the National leagues - Woking bt Torquay 3-1 but stay in the bottom 4, Sh!ts drew 1-1 at Boreham Wd to move up to 6th. In the Southern section Hungerford nicked a late win at W-S-M and Maidenhead came away from Oxford City with a 3-1 win and are now top of the pile again after the Beavers lost 0-2 at home to Whitehawk.

- Got to this – first blank for quite a while – was a reasonable match nonetheless but two sides from the same division (National North) appeared to know each other’s strengths too well. Nice ground – currently Worcester are playing at the home of Sporting Bromsgrove – formerly Bromsgrove Rovers – down the A38 from the M42.

NAT
Southport 1-1 Aldershot Town – Eastleigh’s win at Macclesfield sees the Sh!ts drop one place to 7th .
Woking 2-0 Wrexham – Cards grab vital win with late goals and escape the bottom four – Tranmere up next.

SOUTH1C
Bedford Town 2-2 Ashford Town (Mx)
Kidlington 3-1 Fleet TownKiddy leap-frog over their visitors at the bottom
Marlow 2-2 Petersfield Town – Blues dropped points here against one of the strugglers but remain in 4th spot
SOUTH1S&W
Tiverton Town 3-1 Didcot Town - Diddy down in 18th only three points above the Freds who are yet to register a win in the league. Tivvy unbeaten are in 2nd place behind leaders and 100% Hereford. Surprising strugglers sat between Wantage & Didcot, are Winchester, who at least are going well in the cup.
Wantage Town 0-2 Yate Town

CCLP
Badshot Lea 1-4 Epsom & Ewell
Bedfont Sports 1-2 Sutton Common Rovers – minor shock with SCR near the bottom and Sports in the top six
Camberley Town 0-0 North Greenford United – Camberley badly off the pace and languishing below mid-table – NGU not finding life at the lower level any easier though cup involvement has meant they do have games in hand of most clubs around them.

CB Hounslow United 2-1 Windsor hosts have won four of the last five league games and are viewed by many as dark horses for the upper places this season.

Farnham Town 5-2 Bedfont & Feltham – CB Hounslow’s current ‘landlords’ are not finding their feet anywhere as quickly as their lodgers who may soon de-camp to their new facility up nearer Osterley, where they originally played before moving to the Orchard.

Guildford City 0-1 Hanworth Villa
Horley Town 1-2 Hartley Wintney leaders stride on
Knaphill 2-1 Abbey Rangers
Raynes Park Vale 2-3 Walton & Hersham – recent results might give weight to the idea that W&H’s stay at STEP05 could be brief – as yet unbeaten and tucked in well up with the leading pace in 3rd.
Spelthorne Sports 0-2 Westfieldvisitors maintain 100% record and have games in hand on leaders Hartley
CCL1
AC London 0-1 Ash Unitedfirst defeat for the new boys
Balham 0-2 Frimley Green
Cobham 3-1 Worcester Park
Cove 0-10 {TEN} Redhill – Five in each half for the ‘Lobsters’ :) –not sure what’s happened to the Cove that I saw win convincingly at Frimley a week or so back. Perhaps their midweek squad is far stronger than the one available to them on a Saturday – though they were also beaten heavily in the Cup last Tuesday?

Epsom Athletic 1-2 Dorking
Eversley & California 2-5 Banstead Athletic – the Wild Boars have been under the weather for a couple of weeks now: following last weeks’ hammering, they picked themselves up to get a good win over Fareham from a level above them, in the County Cup but slumped badly here.

Sheerwater 1-0 Chessington & Hook United – C&H’s first defeat at the new leaders
Staines Lammas 0-3 Bagshot

HELLP
Ardley United 1-4 Longlevens AFC
Burnham 0-1 Brackley Town Saints – still no respite for the Blues going down at home to side just above them – remain pointless from 11 games now & 7 points adrift.

Henley Town 3-3 Tuffley Rovers
Lydney Town 2-3 Bracknell Town - Robins up to 6th
Royal Wootton Bassett 0-1 Flackwell Heath - Heathens in 5th, have games in hand on those above them
Thame United 3-3 Thatcham Town - Kingfishers stay 2nd behind Binfield and like Bracknell shared 6 goals with Thame who remain unbeaten and in 3rd place with 2 games in hand of the leaders. Thatcham have a crucial phase ahead – their next 4 games to 1st Oct are H v RWBT then trips to Ascot & Flackwell before they host Highmoor – if they can stay in the top two through that I’d expect them to be serious challengers – they distinctly average when I saw them first hand last week at he ‘Moles’ though.

HELL1E
AFC Aldermaston 0-2 Woodley Unitedthe Scours Lane ‘lodgers’ have 3 from 3 and are neatly sat in 4th place. They only won 4 league games in total, last season.
Finchampstead 2-1 Chalfont Wasps
Holyport 0-4 Didcot Town Res
Penn & Tylers Green {SEVEN} 7-0 Chinnor – P&TG take over top spot from Head Ams following their defeat at Rayners La
Rayners Lane 4-3 Headington Amateur's
Sandhurst Town 3-2 Wantage Town Res
Wokingham & Emmbrook 0-2 Bicester Town - att a very healthy 132 comfortably the higfhest across all three divisions
HELL1W
Clanfield 85' 0-3 Milton United
Purton 1-0 Abingdon United
Shrivenham 0-0 North Leigh Utd Shrivy - slipped here against strugglers Nor Lye Ressies
Tytherington Rocks 0-1 Letcombevillagers off the bottom with a win here – Rocks replace them with Woodstock Town sandwiched in between.
- Hooky who put four past Sarries and Fairford who bt Easington 4-0 are the top two above Shrivenham.

WESSP
Portland United 1-0 Andover Town
- Town struggling nr the foot of the table only Verwood below them – new boys from the ‘island’ doing well now up to 4th – last season’s runners-up Blackfield & Langley still top but dropped their first points; held at home by more conventional islander from Newport IoW. Moneyfields, from nr Pompey move 2nd only on GD from B&L, with a win over other promoted side Amesbury. Bash’s recuperation continues – they sit 3rd after edging Bemerton (from Salisbury) 1-0.
WESS1
Andover New Street 1-2 Folland Sports
Christchurch 4-1 Alton
Fleet Spurs 2-3 AFC Stoneham
Tadley Calleva 0-2 New Milton Town
- Clean sweep of reverses for our featured ‘local’ sides. Usual ‘suspects’ make up the bottom three too: ANS, Pewsey Vale (who didn’t play yesterday) and still ‘pointless’ East Cowes Vics. Relegated Folland picked up their first win at ANS ‘leap’ up to 4th bottom.
- At the top Hamble Club still 100% on 9 from 9, appeared to have had an ‘off day’ in front of goal, only scored three - about half their average rate – but were away from league action – in a local cup tie. Laverstock & Ford (also from the environs of Salisbury) dropped their first points of this term with a 3-4 defeat at home against promoted club Baffins. Shaftesbury who were putting poor Vics to the sword 7-1 take over 2nd spot.
- Unexpected defeat for Tadley – though they have ‘loaned/shared’ one of their usually prolific front line (James Tennant) to help out Thatcham, so possibly they are a bit understrength?

Staines Town 1-0 Maidenhead United

Proper cup-tie down at Wheatsheaf Lane. First five minutes it looked like Maidenhead's higher quality would tell, but Staines had the better of the rest of the first half albeit without creating any really clear chances.

Second half the Magpies were much improved & hit the post twice (one a fingertip save from a free kick), but an underhit back pass proved the decisive moment in the 66th minute, with Max Worsfold taking advantage for Staines. The Swans then rattled the bar from thirty yards, but apart from that it was mostly Maidenhead pressure. However, they were unable to take their chances & the expected siege in the last ten minutes never materialised; Staines saw it out fairly comfortably in the end.

With five ex-Maidenhaed players in their starting line-up plus Drax Hippolyte in charge, this was a massive win for Staines (pun intended).

Attendance 414 (majority Madenhead, it seemed)
