Deadlock
PieEater And they have that fooking bell.

And that guy with the tats and top hat, a model supporter.

That'll be the bell with the tats, the top hat, AND a bugle he can't play and the ridiculous name John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood.

Fortunately, now I have an excuse to post this old cartoon by Ormondroyd (see the end).

IIRC, I used to work with Ormondroyd and he is a Fulham fan. Nice guy and never gave the impression that he was that funny at work.

Money being held back as the 3 directors are claiming money under the football creditors rule.

The High Court last week rejected an attempt by HMRC to abolish the [Football Creditors] rule, declaring it lawful.

Does this mean there will now be legislation on the way to outlaw this plainly ridiculous rule.

Also Ben Haim! PFC chucking money about and now finally getting a bit of pay back. I would hate to be a pompey fan next season considering all they're getting in is young free agents who haven't got anywhere else to go.

Ben Haim is the big one. £38,000 a week. Not sure but I don't think he had a relegation clause in his contract.

He is but he's not the only one. As I put on the other thread, Ben Haim £2.5m a year; Lawrence and Kitson £1m a year; Norris 800k a year, that's over £5m a year on 4 players.

Why cant they just sell Ben Haim for a cut price fee? Or am I completely missing something?

Tony Le Mesmer missing something?

This.

No one else will match those wages so why would he want to go 'work' elsewhere when he has a perfectly good contract with PFC?

Ditto Kitson

Are they seriously expecting players to take an offer when they know they're guaranteed 100% of whats owed to them under the football creditors rule?

How many fans will gamble £300 - £400 on Pompey making it through the season?

To be fair he is going to have to retire soon and so needs as much in the bank as possible for the future. He's probably only stuck around in Pompey because they promised him this money and they've only been able to play him because they made that choice to pay him that much. If they hadn't offered him that contract then he could easily have earnt decent money in Qatar/China/US/Australia so why should he have to lose out financially because they made an offer to him that they can't afford to honour now.

Exactly. And it's no use the Administrator bellyaching that the players are refusing to help by deferring wages over a period of up to four years when it's patently obvious to anybody - including players and their agents - that the creditors from their last administration are being tuck-up like a kipper with this second CVA. Given a sniff of a chance Balum Chanari will pull stunt again.

I'm surprised Chanrai can buy them out of it again. I thought you were barred from owning a club if you take one into Admi twice... So either he wasn't in charge for the first one, or I've just made that up.

If anyone's interested, I made a radio documentary about Portsmouth's finances for my Masters final project. Feedback appreciated!

Link: http://www.mixcloud.com/jonnafon/the-pl ... -finances/

The Pompey Trust still seem to be desperately trying to get new investment to come forward - their bid needs to be better than the Chainrai one to have any chance of succeeding. At the Trust meeting I attended, Tal Ben-Haim's name was mentioned many times, and not in a good light... It looks like they will get out of admin again but if Chainrai's bid is accepted it will only be a stay of execution.

Season tickets can be bought by cash (from the ticket office only), credit/debit card or with a cheque made payable to ‘Portsmouth Football Club (2010) Ltd in Administration’.

And the other thing I heard was that the FL have said PFC will not be docked points if they are still under a CVA when the new season starts. But I thought this runs against precedents already set with Leeds and Luton?
