TBMNewCorkSethTBM Why doesn't he just roll the sleeves up?!
Why doesn't he stop being a child?!
Kinda what I was suggesting
Oh.. Sorry.. I liked the way he said "I like wearing short sleeves"*
*Not a direct quote, rather a summation.

Platypuss Everton have really impressed me in the 2 games I've just seen. Their fans must really be delighted with the progress they've made.

winchester_royal Everton fantastic - again. Ross Barkley and Garath Barry the best players on the pitch - again. Hope Roy learned a few things during his afternoon out, absolutely no reason why England can't play in a similar way this summer.

Don't agree on Barkley today- tried fancy flicks, gave the ball away too often and at times greedy on the ball.
A different build and much stronger than Joe Cole but similarly to Cole he needs to be less flash IMHO and could be a real player
He has been talked up as much as Wilshere but they have some way to go to be good international players-they both might well get there in time.
The Barcelona lad does look classy.

Disagree a little there Vic. The Barca fella is very selfish, tries to do too much in the wrong areas, but tbf makes a difference in the final third (a la Joe Cole). Barkley does the simple things well, is an absolute beast physically, and has plenty of skill to go with it. His hold up play set up Everton's goal, he played a central part in every one of Everton's impressive counters, and had enough flair to be a creative force against a good Arsenal defence (e.g. the flick to set up the Mirallas chance). I agree that Wilshere is a touch over-hyped (though I do believe him to be a fantastic player in the making) but Barkley is the real deal imo. By far the best English prospect to emerge since Rooney, and he's under one of the best managers for his development.
A long way to go though, his decision making is still very average and given the positions he gets himself into he should create/score more, but that will come with experience and the fact he's getting himself into those positions is a very positive sign..

Royal Rother Not really. 2 goal advantage with 30 seconds left is not all that close. They did enough. Comfortably. Not that I'd expect Wenger to express that tbh.

Royal Rother They weren't exactly hanging on at any stage though were they. Always in control.
The red card and 2nd goal were pretty much irrelevant because they'd already done the job.
