February is what will make or break their season.........especially if they don't sign anyone before Friday

Arsenal have batted well above their average this season, mainly due to Aaron Ramsey suddenly having the season that everyone though he was capable of and to Ozil getting up to speed quickly, but I find it remarkable that Wenger hasn't gone in for a decent striker in this window; it seems to me that relying on Giroud is a risky strategy.

I was just thinking that they will probably get through February but that March will be the killer. The domestic games in February are winnable or drawable at least, and I am not sure if Arsenal have genuine ambitions in the CL this year. March is a nightmare though. As far as I remember, the game after the home game against City (at the beginning of April) is away to Everton. Cherry on top.

Interesting that. Expect Mourinho to try and strangle the City game then go all out in the others.

I've generally been of the mind that Arsenal's title challenge will ultimately flounder because I don't think they'll win the games against their title rivals (City & Chelsea). However I'm coming more around to the fact that they might get a draw from both of them and win pretty much every game afterwards. All depends on whether they bottle it when it gets to the nitty gritty of course but I still think they've got a good chance.

Neither side will win it but the two Merseyside clubs are going to have a big say in who does I think.

They certainly aren't going to win the league but with that favourable stat they could chase 3rd place pretty hard

Yup, you're correct in saying that.

Hmmm - Has Ozil really gotten up to speed quickly. He's certainly not been a flop but he's not turned up in any of the big games yet.

He did superb up until Christmas, then he seemed to take himself on a winter break

Superb? If anyone has been "superb" for Arsenal this season (certainly first half anyway) it's Ramsey. Ozil has done well, yes - but "superb"? Not for me.

Which of the big games has he turned up in?
How many MoTM performances has he put in?

I know it isn't definitive by any stretch of the imagination, but the Telegraph Fantasy Football League has Ozil ranked the 5th best midfielder of the season, after Yaya Toure, Hazard, Ramsey and Lallana, with Navas, Nasri and Oscar just behind.

Sat opposite an Arsenal STH today and just asked him some of my questions and about Ozil in general. He said that Ozil looks tired & reckons next season is when he'll step up to superb and putting in regular 10/10 performances.

Ozil was always being taken off 10-20 minutes before the end of the games when he played for Madrid. He rarely had the stamina to play 90 minutes in La Liga so it's no surprise he is looking tired in the more physical PL.

Wenger to sign a new contract as if it was ever in doubt. after the club agreed a new kit deal with Puma, which is thought to be the most lucrative in the history of British football.

Liverpool signed the biggest kit deal with Warrior a couple of seasons ago. They've since slipped to 12 in the Worlds 'biggest' clubs.

I don't know why everyone likes to hate on Ozil. He's been fantastic.

Also bad news for Arsenal with the Puma deal. Bland, template kits on their way.

No-one mentions Podolski. And he isn't shit. He's another option for Wenger up front no he is back fit.

I can't see any hate for Ozil here? Just realistic views that he's not been as good as some people would say he has - I'm still recognising he's been good though and done well.

This is exactly what the Arsenal STH opposite me said too.
