No Fixed Abode I think your neighbours Everton paid the highest price imo - missing out on 2 European Cup campaigns. You got them banned, so can't really say you paid the biggest penalty.

It was the behaviour of English fans in general, which was an utter disgrace, that got them banned. If it was just Heysel only Liverpool would have been banned. Whenever England played in a foriegn country there was riots and UEFA had been threatening to ban English clubs from europe for years. Personally i felt at the time that the national side should have beeb banned from competition too because the trouble caused the night before a game wherever it was brought shame on English football time and time again. Liverpool were banned for longer than the other teams which i have always said was the correct decision.

Success doesnt come into it. I was only answering what Kes wrote about compensation to other clubs. 'A lot of 'football fans' in the 80s were horrible people who went round beating up other people simply because they preferred another team. It puts todays squabbles into context. Heysel was a terrible disaster. Those found guilty went to jail and rightly so. Ive never come across a Liverpool fan who thinks any different. I joined this discussion to say it was untrue that Liverpool fans simply brush it under the carpet. if you read my previous posts you would see this. I have also stated a couple of times that i think it was correct to give Liverpool a longer ban. Ive never ever suggested Liverpool were the victims!!!

And you have a point about Chelsea Headhunters. Didn't they turn up at that referee's house, Anders Frisk or whatever he was called, and give death threats to him and his familly if he EVER refereed another game again. He didn't. Nice people.

But ultimately it was Heysel which was the icing on the cake.

The icing on the cake ? You make it sound like it was something to celebrate. Very odd choice of words to say the least.

Only a Liverpool fan would come out with that. :| Trying to make out a supporter of another club is trying to 'celebrate' what happened at Heysel. Deary me.

The sad truth is that if Chelsea had a team that could have competed in Europe in the 80's Heysel would have been small potatoes.

Luckily for everyone they were universally shit around that time.

Didn't the Chelsea attendance go as low as about 5000 during those years?

Little help here - what did Chelsea win. Genuinely stumped.

You do know that Division 2 wasn't The Championship back then, yeah?

Ive never pulled you about mentioning the war. You bring up Heysel as a way to have a pop at Liverpool rather than any genuine sorrow for what happened. You talk utter shite about John Terry and how Clattenburg is serving a ban. Yes sir, you are indeed a Troll/wum.
