No Fixed Abode I think your neighbours Everton paid the highest price imo - missing out on 2 European Cup campaigns. You got them banned, so can't really say you paid the biggest penalty.
It was the behaviour of English fans in general, which was an utter disgrace, that got them banned. If it was just Heysel only Liverpool would have been banned. Whenever England played in a foriegn country there was riots and UEFA had been threatening to ban English clubs from europe for years. Personally i felt at the time that the national side should have beeb banned from competition too because the trouble caused the night before a game wherever it was brought shame on English football time and time again. Liverpool were banned for longer than the other teams which i have always said was the correct decision.
