Thats 5 goals in 10 games, one start and over 320 min played. It has been very difficult for him to dislodge the brilliant Salihovic who plays in the same position and I think he will mainly be substitute for a bit longer, wonder if he is having 2nd thoughts on the move now. Should have stayed at Reading for sure.

Scored Hoff's 2nd goal today (from open play) to put them 2-0 up at Wolfsburg. They drew 2-2 with Dzeko scoring a last minute equalizer.

Six

2-2 draw Vs Kaiserslautern
4-2 defeat Vs Mainz
4-0 win Vs Hannover (x2)
2-2 draw Vs Bayern Leverkusen
2-2 draw Vs Wolfsburg

Shame the game when I went over to see him, he came on as a late second-half sub and shortly after Hamburg scored the winner to win 2-1. Still, free tickets off him and a good trip 8)

Here you go, here are the highlights with Siggy's goal against Wolfsburg. Check out the the screamer from Gustavo for Hoffenheim's first.

Should Wolfsburgs first goal have counted?

I mean the keepers dive was slightly hesitated because of the player behind him in an offside position.

Never mind Reading he's not going to be at Hoffenheim for too long.

What makes you say that? More or less guaranteed top half finishes in the 3rd biggest league in Europe... Unless it's to a similarly wealthy team in England or Spain, I can't see him leaving for the near future.

Gylfi is destined for far bigger things than Hoffenheim they are just a stepping stone. Bigger clubs are already looking at him, he has all the talent in the world and could easily play for a top English or Spanish club. Why they didn't realise that before is anyone's guess but they will soon.

He needs to keep getting games at a decent level before getting his big chance in one of the really big clubs. Amongst the best players I've ever seen live - which includes Cantona, Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney etc...

Here's some match by match detail on Sig (click the "Appearances" tab visible under his name)

Mostly on as a second-half sub, and usually pretty late on at that, but has started and gone the distance in Hoffenheim's last two --and, unless somebody knows better than I, he looks set to feature in a starting role going forward come the end of the break

Two of his six goals have come from the spot (so we know that the gaffer believes), but in any case he's co-leader of the squad if we're counting goals scored in league matches alone

We oughtn't downplay how suited that league, and particularly a Ralf Rangnick team, and Gylfi are to each other. As many of us commented at the time of transfer, it's perfect there for creative midfielders such as him. I'm sure eventually he'll thrive in any environment he chooses, but would hate him to be bought in the next year or so by a team that'll hide him on the bench forever. It's a shame he couldn't have gone to a less hateful team like Mainz or BVB, but TSG do know how to develop talent at least.
