genome Half-decent performance tonight

Yeah, wasn't bad that.

Fixture list has been weird to Liverpool this season - horrific run of away games to start the season which they have actually done okay out of; will be typical Liverpool if they now don't pick up points from a relatively easy run; next five league games are Newcastle (a), West Brom (h), Watford (a), Leicester (h), Sunderland (a), and they only play two 'big' teams (Arsenal and United at home) before March.

Klopp has made the impact the owners will have wanted though, that's 7 wins in 8 now.

They were shocking for the first 20 minutes though. Both fullbacks really struggled and they could, perhaps should, have been dead and buried before Sturridge really had a touch of the ball.

They looked half decent once they go into their stride even if Southampton did give up during the second half which allowed Liverpool to make the scoreline a bit more flattering.

Was it Wanyama who didn't put away the header that would've made it 2-0? Thought he should've done better and at that point you wouldn't have bet on Liverpool getting back into it. Sky should have a Klopp-cam available on the red button for all Liverpool games they show. I hope he stays this entertaining for the neutral fan and doesn't degenerate into a Fergie/Mourinho type figure that only their own clubs fans like.

Fair play to Klopp, a dignified and honest appraisal of the match today. A breath of fresh air in the Premier League.

didn't see the match but isn't it just players and manager making an effort to actually thank the fans rather than celebrating anything? isn't that what he did with Dortmund for years? Just a way of creating a bit of unity.

Yep, and far from embarrassing. I've never felt so disconnected from my team, so to see a manager do something like that is good to see.

prefer what Klopper did over half a team of RFC players casually clapping their hands 3 or 4 times while looking the other way and strolling off the pitch tbf

I wanted to make a separate thread on this. I'm sick of seeing other teams players and occasionally manager (QPR last home game as an example) really making an effort to walk towards away fans and actually put some feeling into thanking them.

Seeing us lose against Forest away and some of the home games, as you've described above, you see the players just sulking off the pitch. Some do clap but with no real conviction.

It must be great if you're a Liverpool fan going to the game and the manager and player does this. I think it will create a much stronger bond with the fans and can only be a good thing

It's a little cringworthy considering the result and the opposition but given Klopps comments a few weeks ago about fans leaving early and wanting to make them want to stay to the end this is probably just a way of helping that along.

He obviously feels they need to do something to connect a bit more with the fans and he was on a bit of a high after he and Pulis were at it all game so he might've just got a bit carried away too.

At least Liverpool can achieve a draw against a mediocre side. Give it some time and maybe, if you're lucky, Chelsea can also one day manage this.

I remember the days when Liverpool and their fans gave it the big one when they won a trophy. Now they do it with a 2-2 draw at home to WBA.

No, its embarrassing...

If they had just won the game then it could be seen to be "great" but do you really think the Liverpool supporters would be going home from that game saying themselves "Can't believe we nearly lost, and only drew at home to West Brom - BUT its ok as the players and manager all held hands and threw them in the air at us - what great team spirit...i now don't care if we don't win a single game this season, as long as the players and manager continue to do this"

When Klopp took over, Liverpool were 6 points from the top of the League; today (before Leicester play a team in the bottom 5 tonight), they are 9 points from the top of the League.
