Sanguine
Old Man Andrews Think Liverpool are one of the clubs who will be adversely affected by the lack of crowd. As much as I cannot stand their scumbag supporters they are a 12th man for them, especially at home.

Maybe. But they have won six and drawn one at Anfield with no fans, scoring 24 goals - so far at least one of the clubs not suffering at home.

Bit of a reach but VVD doesn't seam as aggressive as he was, looks almost timid at times. Wonder if he needs that roar of the crowd to get himself up for it. Must be the same for a few others too, not just at Liverpool.

Sanguine I don't think it's true that pundits aren't picking up on Liverpool's defensive frailties since the restart, it has been a pretty common theme of discussion.

It's also the case that since that Watford defeat, Liverpool have nine league wins, two draws and three defeats, which is a pretty decent record for a 'shoddy' team.

Still a decent record of course, but prior to the Watford game, they’d only lost 1 game in 65 league games

Alisson, Henderson and Mane all big misses yesterday though, Keita never seems to quite do it for me

Keita an odd one - a bit of 'a Rougier' in that he has all the attributes to play more consistently at a higher level, but just, doesn't.

Would add that I think Liverpool's biggest miss is Firmino - his weird lack of home goals is one thing, but he's become more and more anonymous as one of the front three, for some time now.

A run of 1 defeat in 65 is never going to be sustainable over say 80, 90, 100 games - there is always going to be a decline slight or otherwise. Their current form is still title challenging.

Liverpool clearly still a very good side and will be interesting* to see how they react to shipping 7.

Snowflake Royal Have to agree with the MotD analysis.

Wasn't so much the high line that was dangerous, it was the lack of pressure on the ball to give time to play the right pass in behind.

Plus Liverpoop regularly had their deepest defender nowhere near the pacey dangerman.

There was one break where it looked something like this at the halfway line ffs

.......................................LP

................LP.................................AV

Switch it to this and there's far less problem.

..................LP

......................................LP.....AV

Fair play to Klopp, smiling at how bad it was and how Villa put them to the sword, then congratulating Villa with a wow. Should have put a fix in by at least HT though.

Didn't see MOTD but that's the way I saw it.
In the games against supposedly better teams in Chelsea and Arsenal the front 6 worked like mad over the whole 90 minutes in closing down the opposition but in the Leeds game and more so yesterday it was if complacency set in and they didn't feel that they needed to do us much and everything would just turn out right in the end.
70:30 possession for Liverpool which hopefully puts to bed the argument that possession is all that matters.

Hopefully this is Liverpool's Watford moment from last season and will be a wake-up call and what better game to get back on track than the Merseyside derby that is their next fixture.
In that game I expect that Gomez will come out of the firing line and if Matip is still unfit Fabinho will play at the back.
The midfield 3 then becomes Henderson, Tiago and Wijnaldum with Mane returning up front.
Alisson also would be heartily welcomed back.

BTW Jack Grealish did his England chances no harm at all and maybe at last the doubters will accept that he is , in English football terms, top class.

Be a remarkable recovery for Allison (Alison, Allisson, Alisson, whichever it is) to make the derby. Klopp said he's out for 6 weeks with a shoulder injury. Might be a quick return for an outfield player, but a keeper with a shoulder injury would be a worry.

They'll still recover enough to make the top four

Yeah Liverpool fans are also starting to question Firmino’s role in the team

Problem is his role is so specialised it’s difficult to find someone else to do it. It’s quite noticeable that even though Origi is a striker and Salah is predominantly a RF, he’ll shift Salah or even Mane up front ahead of Origi who will play on the left

I think Keita just needs a run of 5/10 games in a row, problem is with Liverpool having Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Jones, Chamberlain etc as competition, he won’t be afforded that luxury. Additionally, he picks up too many knocks

You're old, confused and lonely. You're angry with the world, family no longer visit you. I get why you're angry, its ok. There are loads of clubs in your area that can cater for your needs, they even put on buses to transport you to different activities. Let me book you in.

No harder test next than 1st away!
I expect to see Matip back (if fit) and Henderson and Liverpool playing a bit deeper than they have done so far this season

Strangely enough, Liverpool getting thumped yesterday could be a blessing in disguise and a real wake up call

Very kind of you to offer, especially with all that time on your hands.
Anything of interest to add to this topic?

No, I thought not but you have achieved your daily target of inane postings and it is only just the afternoon.

I've added lots of comments about the game and the scummy club you support. If you come in here and try and defend them and justify that perfromance then you will get called out on it.

I don't think Klopp will change the method but will insist on greater commitment and attention over the whole 90 minutes.

Shaqiri the third Liverpool player to test positive for COVID-19, having been tested when he joined up with the Swiss squad. Has to be some concern of an outbreak at Anfield.
