Blackburn sack Allardyce

by Ferris » 13 Dec 2010 17:09

Another one bites the dust. Similar to Hughton, I don't think he's done much wrong and can't see anyone else doing much better

Was always likely to happen after the new owners stated that £5m would be available for transfers.

Assistant manager Neil McDonald has also left Ewood Park with first team coaching duties being taken on by Steve Kean for the immediate future.

A club statement from new owners the Venky's Group read: "We have taken this decision as part of our wider plans and ambitions for the club. We would like to put on record our thanks to Mr. Allardyce for his contribution to Blackburn Rovers Football Club."

I am literally stunned at that, he'd turned Blackburn into a decent side who were hard to beat after the Paul Ince debacle

If they were to sack him, why not do it after being humiliated 7-1 at OT?

Stupid decision, typical of the new breed of owners. Few people are as well-qualified to maintain Premier League status on a tight budget. I actually feel sorry for Fat Sam, this is twice in a row he's been treated like this. At least this will accentuate the Dingle demise.

There was talk of massive interference from the new owners in potential transfer dealings last week. Allardyce has probably actually walked id say.

Alan Shearer's just taken charge of Blackburn on my footy manager game. Just saying is all.

I heard that he's secured a lucrative contract with Bagatell to be the next Mr Potato Head model

If the new Manager arrives in the next few days I would say the decision may have been made then. Once the new owners said they wanted to make the decisions on signings Sam's days were numbered.

New owners that know nothing about football come in and immediately sack a man doing a decent job. Hardly a surprise is it?

My money's on them splashing the cash on someone about as good as Allardyche but twice as expensive. Curbishley and Jol immediately spring to mind

What a farce.

Ray Wilkins, Chris Hughton and Sam Allardyce - who's next I wonder.

Things is, silence is probably part of the price of a decent quick compensation package so I suspect we'll never find out the truth about these decisions.

What's to find out really? Wilkins fell out with Abramovich, Hughton was a victim of Ashley wanting to get his mate in and Allardyce doesn't fit the mold that the new owners want and won't bring immediate success

wouldn't it be great if a club under new management "sacked" a manager, and then absolutely no one applied for the vacancy?
