Only really saying what anyone else watching the game was thinking.
Also it's not as if this was said on air, it was someone recording a private conversation.
Embarrasing yes, but sackable offence - no.

Also you have to ask how a 25-year-old woman is fast-tracked so that she can become a linesman (or lineswoman) at a live-televised TV match.
Typical football, but even more typical of modern-day PC Britain.

having run the line a few times recently

I would defy anybody to fully "understand the offside rule"..............in a lot of cases, it is purely subjective opinion.....and all done at 90mph

Why do you think she's been 'fast-tracked'? Because the FA are such a notorious hand-wringingly lefty organisation?

She's prolly more memorable just because she's a little girl but I actually thought she was one of the better linos we've had in recent times when she did the game at our place recently. Obviously this is faint praise as I'm not entirely sure what they do these days normally, except wait for the ref to tell them what decision to give.

Having said all that her doing this job is just political correctness gone mad, spot on del

If the FA could find a gay, black referee in a wheelchar they would be refereeing the FA Cup final within 18 months.

Have you listened to the full recording?

They weren't joking around, they were discussing her with a real air of disdain...and she called the decision correctly which they seemed to have missed.

Keys may have fcuked himself with his final comment re: Brady...especially the beautifully patronising "do me a favour love" sign off.

When these stories comes out always makes me wonder who releases the tape? My money is on Jamie Redknapp...he's had his eye of Keys' job for ages!

Keys and Gray were running scared. Anyone who has watched women's football on tv will have noted that whatever the doubts about the players or the officials women pundits are well up with the chaps when it comes to talking bollocks in the studio. Keys and Gray fear the competition.

It's interesting that Sky are considering their position, wheras Atkinson was out on his ear alomost immediately. So that means sexism is less of an offence than racism.

I'd have thought it's more a case of them being unwilling to get rid of the two guys who have become pretty much synomonous (sp?) with Sky's football coverage over the last 20 years.

I'd rather have a woman running the line than be sat in the stands to be fair.

The recording was made BEFORE the game, so the decision you refer to had nothing to do with this.

Their disdain for women in what is a male dominated sport is more than somewhat sad but hardly a surprise.

Surely they were being ironic, as both Gray and Keys seem to struggle to understand the off-side rule. If they were being truly sexist they'd have pointed out its a shame Miss Massey's nose is bigger than her tits.

Hmmm heard conflicting reports about when it was said - some say pre match, some at half time.

Anyway regardless it does raise some interesting points as mentioned above:-

- If they'd said something racist would they still be in a job this morning?
- What price loyalty? 20 years on service to SKY, will they be allowed their one strike?

I sense SKY desperately want to keep them, but if pressure mounts it may be difficult.

My first though was that this was a bit of light-hearted banter, but if you listen you'll see it's not - they're quite serious and very nasty.
