You can see why they went for him, he's got a great track record of spending money wisely. At City he signed Kompany for about £6m which was an incredible deal looking back.

A few of his other best buys were Lescott for £20m, Jo for £18m, Santa Cruz £16m, Bridge £12m and Adebayor £25m that's value for money however you look at it.

What ever happened to Jo and Santa Cruz?

Jo went back to Brazil and Roque Santa Cruz is still a City player but he's on loan at Real Betis I think.

To be fair City weren't exactly interested in value for money. They just wanted the best players they could get. Like Jo :|

Bridge could have been a good transfer at £12m, lord knows what's happened to his desire. To think that once upon a time he played 80-odd games in a row for Southampton.

Santa Cruz for £16m was a bad joke. He was once voted the worst player of the year in the Bundesliga. He's only ever had one half-decent season in his career.

Ideal
Harpers So Solid Crew Hughes says he needs £30mill on new players to keep them in the Prem, cnut

lol lol lol lol lol, that's going to raise team morale. "you're all worthless, I'm going to replace you lot"
I hope he spunks £30M on shit players and gets them relegated.

IdeaLOL.

These are exciting times to be a QPR fan. They've got some decent players already, a wealthy chairman who is prepared to spend on the squad, future plans for a new stadium, and they have hoops that go all...the...way...around. I wish we had all of that.

FWIW Hughes has made an approach for Alex. Free in the summer so not going to cost a lot from Chelsea. Not a bad start, Ideal.

Looking at the teams around them and with just over half the season gone I'd say they have plenty to be optimistic about.

I'd be massively surprised if Alex went to QPR. He could probably have his pick of half a dozen regular Champions League teams.

Would you say there's three worse teams than them in the division, so they definitely won't go down?

Don't worry m8, I actually think Hughes will prolly somehow rescue you, undoing Colin's damage, you might even win a cup game next week

It won't be because of your shirts though

I know but I figured that if that was what he's interested in he'd have been happy staying on at Chelsea. You never know though, I guess if he's settled in London and wants regular football, QPR could be perfect.

That is some record, 13 years since the last win in the FA Cup, the thought of wanting MK Dons to win a game palls though.
