Stranded Rotherham part company with Matty Taylor.

Must be nice to have a club who can see when something isn't working and can actually do something about it.

One of the hardest jobs in football with miniscule amounts of transfer funds ever available.
Their natural level is league 1 but they keep on getting promoted and soon after, relegated.

If we are to part ways with Selles and have some new ownership, I wouldn't mind Taylor personally. Got a good track record with Exeter and was very much up against it with Rotherham and did well to survive in the end as well. Think he's got a point when he says not many can do a better job than him at Rotherham just because of how limited they are.

He wouldn't be a standout name or anything, but pretty stable. Has a track record of longevity at Exeter, getting them out of League Two, being competitive in League One and similarly in the Championship until recently.

Not really a surprise, since beating the Selles masterplan, Cambridge have won 1 league game in 12 and that was at home to Carlisle.

And worse still his old “striker team” of Knibbs and Smith is beginning to gel again

Still would wonder if he would be better or worse than Selles?

Yes, losing 5-0 at Burnley with Liverpool your next game probably really brings home that a change was needed to maintain whatever little chance there is of staying up.

Tough job for him this season, as it would be for any manager at Sheffield United, lost his two best players and I don't think they invested that much either. It's just a squad of Championship players really.
