Disgraceful way to treat a legend

He deserves to be sacked. He isn't owed a living just because he happens to be old, he has done a really bad job at Palace.

Yep, they've been on quite a slide recently. Feels like it should've happened a little while ago, maybe at the start of the season.

Would have been harsh given how well they played under him, back end of last season. This season though, really, really poor. Take out Olise and Eze and they look bang average. Find it quite surprising given how many footballers come from that neck of the woods, that they haven't found a decent homegrown striker.

Looks like they're going for Oliver Glasner, ex Eintracht Frankfurt, now that Kieran McKenn has turned them down.

Thought Steve Cooper would be a shoo-in.

My Palace supporting mate reckons its because there's no money for bringing in players because of the stadium revamp. Hodgson should just have gone in on a short term contract, steered them away from relegation and walked off into the sunlit uplands last summer.

Instead he's basically done a Warnock but the club haven't been able to line anyone else up until now so he's not been sacked. Warnock gets praised for doing what he does, Hodgson gets panned. Guess he doesn't play to the media in the same way.

Crystal Palace Twitter:

"Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session."

What on earth can they do to that cr@phole apart from repaint it? Hemmed in on all sides and little space to get any benefit from bigger stands?

I remember standing on the open end terrace at Selhurst watching Senior and co. stuff Steve Coppell and Ian Wright 'n' all 3-1

Then they moved the away support down the side for later games, where we could more readily irritate Andy Johnson and wave tenners at the ref, the excellent Gurnam Singh it was, in the hope he might prove to be "persuadable" (he wasn't).

Oliver Glasner is an excellent manager - would be a very good appointment.

He did end up in hospital, so sounds like he was actually taken ill.

Oh it did seem like a massive coincidence - but it must be a coincidence.

Can't imagine them faking this, the blowout would be horrific.

Birmingham announce that Tony Mowbray is stepping back from "on-site" running of the club for 6 to 8 weeks as he undergoes an unnamed medical treatment.

Wish him well.

Beale gone from Sunderland already. Looked massively out of his depth at all three clubs....

Queens Park Rangers 1 June 2022-28 November 2022
Rangers 28 November 2022-1 October 2023
Sunderland 18 December 2023-19 February 2024

Wouldn't say he's been terrible at Sunderland. Sunderland are basically where they've been all season - just outside the play-offs. I don't know what their expectations are though.

Sacked after 12 games into a 2.5 year contract, he must be laughing all the way to the bank.

It was a shocking appointment and Sunderland have got all they deserve after sacking Mowbray.

Think its more the way he's conducted himself. 12 games and he's turned the entire fanbase against him lol.
