Bandini
Maguire Where's Victor defending him then? I can't believe he's not been on here saying "well, it's not like he killed him is it?"

In the other thread, Victor did prove that it's not possible to bite someone whilst running, therefore Suarez didn't bite him.

Well done for accepting it as proof positive.
I expect him to get a 3 match International ban or 1 match if he waives the right to appeal.

A one-year ban, but knowing FIFA, probably an ambassadorial role.

What pisses me off is how this has distracted attention from the fantastic goal scored by James Rodriguez for Colombia.

I predict 6 month world-wide ban, 18 month suspended. He surely can't get away with less given it's happened for the third time and in FIFA's flagship event.

In a way it's a real shame for Liverpool, they've done really well last season, mostly kept him out of any serious trouble too and are looking to build on their success. And now he does this and should really get banned for life. He's just a nasty nasty little shit.

Rodgers must have his head in his hands wishing he'd offloaded when he had the chance.

Anyone trying to defend that or make excuses for a lighter punishment has got to be at best a borderline sociopath.

The unwillingness of the Uruguayans to acknowledge that the incident was serious brings lawyers into the equation therefore I think the punishment will be 'negotiated' with them and will be lenient. Something like a three/four match ban and a promise to undergo further anger management treatment.

Well, one thing's for certain - this would never have happened if he'd signed for Arsenal last summer.

Prediciton:
12-match international ban.
No domestic ban.
Liverpool make a pre-emptive strike to avert FA action by suspending him until August 1st or something like that.

I think he deserves a 3-match ban for violent conduct.

I would give him a 1 year worldwide ban (won't happen though). This is the third time he has now committed the same offence and is therefore showing no signs of changing his behaviour. This guy is a role model for a lot of young kids and the message needs to be sent out that this type of behaviour is not acceptable. He needs to be made an example of.

DaveBanana It's not like him biting people is ever going to do much harm, other than just being truly bizarre?!

A bite could cause infection and scarring, not to mention the risks of Tetanus, HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.

Something quite disturbing and invasive about being bitten too. Would rather a smack in the mouth, personally.

Well, it could, but I can't see him doing it with enough force to break the skin... a valid point though - I'd have said last time "well surely he's not going to do it again..." but clearly he has no control. I'd quite like to see him appeal the ban, be able to play in the next round, and get absolutely destroyed. The Uruguayan defence of him is astounding.

DaveBanana It's not like him biting people is ever going to do much harm, other than just being truly bizarre?! But I think the issue is that it's such a loss of control - the implication is that if he is so unwilling to reel himself in and stop biting people, surely its only a matter of time until he's so wound up he goes in for intentional knee-highs and the such, it's a repeated lack of discipline.

...that said, it's made bloody good entertainment.

The biting is just part of his game. He is a serial stamper on opponents ankles. If you watch this video you can see these are not accidental or mistimed but deliberate . He knows what he is doing and he knows why.

He's beyond conniving, the majority are done midway through hurling himself at the floor. Thanks for the links though, the first compilation had quite a few I hadnt seen before which will make great showing to my Liverpool supporting friend :D
