From Despair To Where?
Clyde1998 I don't think this has been posted here: Aldershot Town are planning a development of their ground:

Phase 1
  • Replacement of East, West and South Stands and new toilet blocks
  • Refurbishment of the North Stand [where the players' tunnel is] and club building
  • New floodlights
  • Creation of space for future fan zone around stadium entrance
Phase 2
  • New hospitality and community building on the High Street
  • Refurbishment of the Phoenix Lounge
  • Landscaping and public realm works on the High Street
Phase 3
  • Replacement of North Stand
  • Renovation of facilities including hospitality, administrative offices and players accommodation
  • New pitch

I'm intrigued by the notion of "replacing" the West Stand. It's currently a couple of trees and a hedge, isn't it?

There's a small stand at that end, which sits a couple hundred tops:

I was there on Saturday for their FA Cup match against Lewes. There was no-one sat in that stand, so I do wonder if it's not accessible or is closed for safety reasons.

Wasn't that end open terrace back in the 80s and 90s?

Wouldn’t say it was even a terrace. Just a flat open end.

Brilliant ground that. Had some memorable refereeing experiences here. They did a decent job in making that stand all seated back in the day, but it looked very bizarre.

To be fair, a lot of grounds had elevated terracing back in the day, it's just the angle at which the Milton Rd runs behind the ground that made the Dell look odd.

Should have gone for a Premier League Years voice over for that one

'Bombs weren't the only things raining down on London in August , as Reading arrived in the capital with their very own aggressive attack' etc

Sevilla publish plans for their new stadium.

They would knock down the existing one and build a new one in its place, with capacity going up from 44k to 55k

They might want to get it right on the pitch first, they are in a right pickle.

Hope they find a home for their Santiago del Campo mosaic. Looks absolutely superb in real life.

ooh that is nice

One of my favourite little stadium things in Spain is that every player that makes 100 appearances for Atletico, they put a plaque outside in place of a paving slab.

Courtois' one keeps being damaged. lol. But in general I like things like that and think we should adopt it
