I'm enjoying the irony that the Spanish are better at playing in the rain than the Irish

Perhaps their team is mainly from the plains?

And that's why 24 teams is a bad idea UEFA. More one sided games with teams out of their depth.

That was so humiliating I actually feel sorry for the Irish. Nobody deserves to have to see their nation humbled like that.

I think you'll find this was only the football team

The nation probably finds the economic intubation more humiliating

Roy Keane just nailed it - "let's not just go along fer der sing song"

He looked seriously pissed off, respect due to be fair.

Not going to happen - he's just spent three years trying to avoid having to work with Championship players.

agree with ideal, ireland were always going to struggle against spain but the old man's selection and tactics beggar belief - we are capable of much better than tha

very rarely have we ever got a hammering - usually at the least we are competitive, thoroughly embarrassing, fair play to the fans though - brilliant support, they deserved better from their management

if he doesn't choose coleman, mccarthy, brady, clark, wilson, hoolahan, pilkington now he can eff right off - you know trap, players that can actually hold onto the ball

worst defeat in 41 years, given useless, keane chosen up front when all we do is lump it forward and he ain't got pace or aerial ability is just insane, green coming on with long and doyle on the bench lol and he continues to select central midfielders and full backs who are incapable of passing the ball - this side and this style of play are great at grinding and boring their way to a play-off spot against lesser nations but what's the point if you are just going to be humiliated when you get there, here's an idea trap, if you want to do well then choose better players, not just hard-working immobile cloggers who follow orders

the sad thing is, and most won't believe this, but if we chose the right players and played the right way we could have been competitive - the pity is that trap has a contract until 2012 when he'll be 75

One week in, and yet again the Euro's are vastly more entertaining than the WC group stages. Ireland (sadly) and Greece look to be making up the numbers while the Dutch have decided to implode once again. Odd to see the likes of Gomez and Bendtner amongst the top scorers.
