KDRF I dont understand how u make money from selling?

Take Man Utd as an example. You buy Utd at 81 points. For every point over 81 they finish on, you get a point, or a virtual £1.
You sell Utd at 79.5 points. For every point they finish below 79.5, you get a point, or a virtual £1

So if Utd finish on 89 points you get 8 points if you buy them and -9.5 if you sell them.
If Utd finish on 70 points (yeah right!) the if you buy them you get -11 and if you sell them 9.5

HTH

or to make it simpler you sold something at 90pts and then where able to buy it later for 85pts thus profiting 5pts

The spreadsheet was to see if I could and practice with them. + I was interested last season in how I was doing but couldn't be arsed to keep working it out. Now all I have to do is put in the form table and it'll do everything for me.

is there an import(xml) (orJSON) function with XLS. You could pull the form table without having to manually type it

fuked if I know. I've only just grasped formulas and how to use info off another sheet. But it ain't much chore to check and input 20 (or 24) numbers.

The Rouge The rules are:
- Pick 3 Buy Bets and 3 Sell Bets (all bets will have equal stake of assumed £1 a point)
- Place your imaginary bets by 6pm Friday 17th Aug
- The person with the greatest profit wins (a league table will be produced throughout the season, hopefully courtesy of Ian Royal)
- Examples: If you place a Buy bet on Tottenham at 66 points then if they finish on 69 points you will be +£3 on that bet. If they finish on 62 points you would be -£4 on that bet.
- There is a separate competition for the Championship
- This is just for fun
- Mods: It works better in General Football than in Competitions

Man City Points SELL82.5 - 84BUY
Man Utd Points SELL79.5 - 81BUY
Chelsea Points SELL74 - 75.5BUY
Arsenal Points SELL68 - 69.5BUY

Not sure what you mean. If you mean before the end of the season, I'll use form extrapolated over 38 (46) games. *No snowballo

It's then just a simple case of minusing that projection from the buy figure for each team or minusing the sell figure from the projection for each team. Toting up each person's total over their six teams, and seeing who's got the highest positive score.

There is no need to extrapolate form. The market moved until the last day of the season. Let's say Newcastle win their first 6 games - they would be on 18 points with 32 games remaining (and presumably playing better than expected). So the bookies may change their price to sell 71-buy 72.5. these recalculations of current prices are done after every game - so we can produce as it stands league tables every 5 games or so.

So our scores aren't based on the scores at the start of the season then? Or have I misinterpreted what you've put?
