Just how did he get a game?

He lasted one day at Bury. The list on the page gave me the name of George Weah's "cousin" who managed to get a game for Southampton - Ali Dia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Dia

There have been a fair few players who have left us all wondering, at times, just how did he ever get a game. Feel free to add to the list.

You have to ask youself why they gave him a contract after a 3 week trial if he was that bad.

Seems bizarre to go from scoring against Juventus in the CL to not being good enough for a short contract at Bury.

Yep, the same Kevin Blackwell who said a certain Adam Le Fondre would never make anything more than a League 2 player.

All a bit strange what's happened there though, although he was signed on non-contract terms from what I understand. Still failing to comprehend how a player who has played in the Champions League cannot make a difference at Bury though...

Exactly, how can you have a player on trial for three weeks, deem him good enough quality to offer an agreement to and then ditch him after one reserve game?

Unless he's going to take the whole opposition on and score single-handedly, it's as much about being part of a team and meshing with the other players than being a gifted individual. qv QPR

How did he play for England...maybe?

You've a better eye than me if you know who this is.

F*cking good player as well. Remember he ripped many a left back a new one in the early 90's for Citeh. White cross, Quinn header - the stuff of dreams for Peter Reid!

Didn't he score in Citeh's 3-1 win at Elm Park back in the eighties? Sure I remember him scoring a couple at the Town End. The week after they'd just put ten past Huddersfield.
