Good goal from England notice how they did their passing around the opposition box rather than their own.

at least a draw spares us the inevitable comments about how "everybody in England will think we are going to win the world cup now after that win" from every armchair cynic out there.

It's a friendly.

And it's not as if the USA are the team full of pub league players that The Sun would insist they are anyway.

edit: apparently not a full strength team.

Judging by the 2nd USA goal in the clip here, you'd certainly hope not

Altidore has smartened up a good deal --volleyed home the opener and made the third by holding off a challenge, getting forward in possession out wide and then waiting and lumping it in to Dempsey in the area instead of trying to force his way to goal and being made to look stupid as has been his wont (but no surprise the Germans came roaring back, and it was only a question of whether or not they'd run out of time)

Anyway Parlouresque charge and strike from Rooney in Rio --an hour and a half very well spent watching that one as it happened instead of the other

He was shocking.

His movement was good in the first half and there were some good runs, but when he or Rooney tried to pass the ball betweeen each other it just didn't work.

And that Ladies and whatever the rest of you are is the danger of knocking the ball around your own box.
