Tottenham HotspuROFL

Daniel Levy really is a prick

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in a bid to stop him selling Ozil to Arsenal. Reports in Spain suggest that Levy appealed to the partnership between the two clubs agreed as part of the Luka Modric transfer to try and stop Perez selling Ozil to Spurs' north London rival. Levy felt "betrayed" by news that Ozil would be allowed to leave for the Gunners

It's also claimed that Levy had a role in preventing a Madrid player joining Arsenal ahead of the north London derby, played last weekend.

Maybe if he hadn't wrung more money out of Madrid for Bale than the player was worth than they wouldn't have had to sell Ozil.

He's one of those people you love to hate, but if he was at our club we'd love him. He gets ridiculous sums of money for players, the uber-Hammond. However this does smack of desperation. No class.

St. Brynjar uber-Hammond

Nice. I have visions of a skyscraper-sized Nick Hammond stomping around, destroying property and negotiating signing-on fees.

I follow him on Twitter, he's always on about how Arsenal do this, Arsenal do that and whatever they do isn't the right way to go about things with regards reinvestment...but Arsenal always finish above Spurs, just like they will this season as well. Spurs policy of spending big on players is laudable to some degree but they rarely sign replacements who are better than the player they are replacing. And that is why Spurs will continue to plateau at the level they are at.

It's funny how Arsenal suddenly found £42m down the back of the sofa now that Spurs have been on a shopping spree. Their 4th place was fairly easy for them to achieve and maintain without spending too much, can't blame Levy for trying to loosen Arsenal's safe footings though. Seem to remember a convenient virus at Spurs when they did threaten them last time.

Arsenal have always had money to spend but Wenger always chose to get players on a free. Anyway they offered £40m for Suarez too - this was before Bale left, freeing this money for their overpriced signings.

£42m on Ozil trumps all the players Spurs bought tbf - it's why Levy is throwing his toys out.

If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be really excited, Ozil is a massive statement of intent, and could help attract more top names. If Wenger splashes the cash I can see them as title contenders next year.

Chelsea fans dream of having 18 League wins and 5 European cups.

We do. Just hope we don't murder anyone along the way. After all it's only a game of football.

You've probably hit the snitch switch given your previous.

How can someone be banned for stating facts?
