Their owner says they will spend £180 mill to become a top five side. Well good luck.. we spent best part of £60mill last time in seson one, it wasnt enough. He is talking three seasons, so just theprem money then.

To be fair, 2-0ers. He was talking to the press in Thailand

He said he would spend 10billion bhat. Which sounds a lot more impressive than £180 million.

But yeah, love to see them fall on their faces

How does FFP affect promoted clubs? They lost £34m last financial year - how will they spend all that money and stay solvent?

I read it the same as 2-0, you get £60m a season so over 3 years you spend £180m. So he's actually not spending anything extra.

I would also imagine he meant £60 million in transfer fees, not just total annual running costs.

If £60m spent above the TV money guarantees a European place then every team would do it and then it wouldn't guarantee a European place

What first appeared to be a 'blip', a run of form that sat squarely on the goalscoring form of Vardy and Mahrez, has become a Leicester City side that demands to be taken pretty seriously.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35059847

Interesting table on the below, that only once since football was invented (1992) has the team that is top after 15 games not finished in the top 3; and in 8 of the last 11 seasons, that team has gone on to win it.

They play very effective and rapid, attacking football - but surely they can't keep scoring at over 2 goals a game? Only the bottom 7 have conceded more goals.

And credit to Ranieri. He was considered a joke of an appointment. Shoe-in for manager of the year unless they completely collapse.

Can they win it?
Or can they get close?

Apols for the merge, Sanguiners.
Just thought we all might as well enjoy some of last year's comments.

3 points between the top 4. Would only take a couple of their top players to miss a game or 2 and they could drop.

Reckon they will finish 4th

Heard on Talksport last night that including their recovery under Pearson at the back end of last season, Leicester have now lost only 3 out of 32 league games (21 wins, 9 draws). Remarkable.

CL has to be a very realistic goal now, being 10 points clear of United in 5th.

The next three games might just shape their fortunes (but then don't we keep saying that?!) - Liverpool (h), City (a), Arsenal (a). After that they play only two of the current top 6 before the end of the season.

I know you can kind of make the case for any club if you looked hard enough, but Leicester missed a couple of penalties recently, had they put them away they would be 7 points clear right now.

I don't know the point of the point I am making here tbh, but there it is anyway

Imagine if Chelsea had got the pens they deserved...we'd be talking about the
competition for second place by now.

4 points in the reverse fixtures earlier this season against those (W Norwich, D Man City)

I am saying 6 points from those (beating Norwich & Liverpool)

5 - one win (Norwich) and 2 draws from the other 3 - probably Liverpool and Arsenal but I think they would take a defeat against Liverpool if it meant sharing points with Man City and Arsenal.
