I know modern football and all that, but, poor Hal, how is he supposed to support his family on only £500k a year?

Players out of touch, fans out of love with football. Football will eat itself.

to be fair you can earn 10k a week as a Avon lady and you wouldn't be saying that about them...

Possibly, but you would have to put some effort in to do that.

He's made a fortune off us since his one "good" season in the PL.

if any scouts are reading this (and I'm sure they are) - he's absolute toss and you'll regret signing him. Cheers.

Please post on General Football, not the team forum.

We only got rid of this clown HRK last week.

That drawing looks more animated than HRK when he played for us.

What's with the happy face? If your point is "I always told you all he was a great player" then why aren't you mad as hell at him for repeatedly failing to show this greatness in a Reading shirt? Back-to-back victories in the "most disappointing" player of the season award should tell you that he was talking the p1ss out of us. Regardless of what he does from this point on, good riddance.

I wasn't expressing my view on him. But surely saying he's the best footballer in the world is at least mildly amusing?!

As an artist I had to commemorate a spectacular achievement by Wales on Friday which Includes one of your own Hal Robson-Kanu who played a massive part in this huge occasion. (you can also email with any queries) Cheers

Why do the local news teams keep referring to the TWO Reading players in the Wales team? About time they kept up with the news ain' it?

I have to admit I do look forward to HRK following in the footsteps of Karacan, Pearce and Federici, in being the failure that most expect him to be.

Its fair to say those three have hardly set the world of football alight with their season transforming performances last year, can't see Kanu being any different.

Personally I couldn't give a toss. I don't wish him ill at all, in fact I'll be as pleased as I am watching Gylfi if Hal proves a success elsewhere and I won't give it a second thought if he isn't.

Happy for the lad.

A bit disappointed that he decided to leave the club that trained him up and then gloat about leaving being his best ever decision but that's just football for you these days.

As for losing him I genuinely couldn't give a toss. Inconsistent at best and never really a real contender to start in any position for me. I suspect he'll struggle anywhere he goes unless he has a Chris Coleman to guide him and a massive world stage game to shine in.

Certainly wouldn't want to spend big wages keeping him here.

Amusing story on talksport about HRK selection for wales. Walsh scout at hogwood looking at church and jake Taylor had HRK brought to his attention by blakey who told him hal could play for wales cos he went on holiday there.

Was more amusing on the radio tbf

Two very good posts here. GetReading clutching at straws.

Would it be wrong to say that the only players in recent history to have gone on to better things after leaving Reading are Shaka Hislop, Nicky Shorey, Shane Long and Gylfi? I woudln't call Kitson or Doyle's post-Royals careers a success, personally.
