Can we replay Burnley away from last season to get another chance of an away win then?

I look forward to England playing Germany again due to the error made in the 2010 World Cup.

Man Utd v Spurs should be a decent watch to replay the error made when Roy Carroll threw it in the net.

Shit was that only last season. Gonna go out on a limb and say we would've 100% stayed up if we got that penalty and maybe even made the playoffs.

Should be good to see the 1966 world cup final replayed after that Geoff Hurst goal that may or may not have gone in

And probably given Ince a 4 year contract.

I see the officials and VAR operators at this weekends matches call decisions into question again. Seems to me that the system is completely broken and someone somewhere needs to be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

Questions asked about the foul for the Liverpool penalty being the denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity which should therefore see Brighton reduced to 10. Meanwhile at the Emirates please explain how the hell Kovacic didn't get sent off and how the hell his first challenge was only a yellow while Jones was sent off at Spurs for pretty much the same sort of challenge.

Something really stinks with this at the moment. Most irritating thing about it is the utter lack of any consistancy as you're getting teams one week being done over by incompetence and then the next week similar match incidents get different decisions. If there was no VAR then inconsistencies and wrong calls are understandable but not when you have it in operation and therefore have experienced referees able to look at things from different angles and different speeds etc.

There's now two refs (Hooper last week and the Arsenal v City ref) who should be demoted immediately.

The lack of red for Kovacic is insane. As you say, it's the inconsistency that is starting to bite.

It's 100% corruption with the Premier league and man City

Can't even deny it at this point

They're covering it up very well by having City lose the last two games and investigating City for a huge amount of breaches of FFP.

Very clever.

Exactly, good distraction tactics

Not a fan of VAR...don't really celebrate goals as they're likely to be reviewed and possibly chalked off

I'm not sure that is what it meant to achieve

Another issue with it is the stupid officials, they don't seeem to referee properly any more just wait for VAR to tell them something in their earhole. I thought VAR was meant to be there to help refs if they made an error, not to do their job for them.

UEFA getting in on the VAR shambles disallowing McTominay's absolutely cracking free kick last night, maybe there was on offside but if so surely you need to prove that with VAR?

Unfortunate for the Scots but it did look as though the player fouled the keeper and was offside.
Far from the end of the road for Scotland who still have a reasonable chance of qualifying.
Let's hope that Andy Robertson's injury is not as serious as it looked.

That's my biggest beef with VAR. It's breeding a generation of officials who don't have to make decisions themselves because they know VAR will pick things up for them. So they're already starting to avoid anything contentious on the pitch.

Before long there'll be no on-field decisions made because referees will have lost the ability (or the guts) to do that themselves.

Surely this will be picked up in a review process? You can't just not attempt to do your job because someone else will pick it up for you. I'm sure there will be something in place to review the performance of referees, whether you'd class "no decision" as "wrong decision" potentially.
